Livonia Police seek help with information on stolen motorized bikes 3:08 PM, May. 4, 2012 | http://www.hometownlife.com/article/20120504/NEWS10/120504013/Livonia-Police-seek-help-information-stolen-motorized-bikes?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Frontpage Written by Ken Abramczyk Observer Staff Writer Livonia police are asking for the public’s help with any information on the theft of seven motorized bicycles and one moped in a string of break-ins at a local bike shop. The bikes are unique in that they feature a battery pack over the rear wheel and sport a retro look with fenders and white wall tires. The bikes were stolen in five separate break-ins between March 23 and April 1 at a new business on the south side of Plymouth Road between Middlebelt and Merriman. Police do not have information from any known witnesses, but they are asking for information from the public if they know of someone who may be in possession of the bikes and may be trying to sell them. The bike models are EG-Oahu, EG-Bali 350, EG-Bali X2 and Extreme X-B 502, which is a moped. The bikes are valued at up to $1,800 each. “It’s not every day that you see these types of bikes,” Sgt. Steve Petsch said. “They look like mountain bikes, and almost look like a throwback with fenders and white wall tires,” Petsch said. “They have the rechargeable battery pack. “People might hear someone talking or bragging about it, or they may see them in possession of them. They may be trying to sell them on Craig’s List or eBay.” Anyone with information is asked to call the Livonia Police Department at (734) 466-2470. |
| I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be WRONG. | |
