According to a Forbes article, Gannett is taking all of its publications to a "pay wall" model. This means you won't have unlimited free access to the Observer any longer.

Information about the city will be harder to find, unless you are willing to pay for it.

Interesting.....

Oh no!

Where will I go now to find out who turned 100 in Livonia this week??

The Observer will be dead in 2 years.

For crime info go to crimemapping.com ...if you want advertising, just turn on your computer, that's about it to cover the Observer. Officer Neheisel will be forgotten, save a few family members and LPD... Oh, I just forgot - you'll now have to dig up your own info on what our respective governments are up to (if that is posssible).

The info I get here on our local government is better and more timely than what shows up on the Observer. We just need more citizens who are active participants.

In defense of the LO, it is a community newspaper - I would much rather read about a person's life and activities while they're alive than read it in their obits. And reaching that milestone of 100 isn't anything to poo poo about. Although Livonia's average age is inreasing with each day

Sto Lat! in all it's glory!
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be WRONG.
