13 file to run for City Council Written by Ken Abramczyk OBSERVER STAFF WRITER http://www.hometownlife.com/article/20110512/NEWS10/105120664/13-file-run-City-Council?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|Livonia|s Livonia Six more candidates filed to run for City Council before the 4 p.m. deadline Tuesday for the council race. Steve King, Christopher Martin and Susan Nash filed Tuesday. Rodger Matthews, John Pastor and Laura Toy filed on Monday. They join a field of seven others, which includes Tom Buck, Brandon Kritzman, Lucas McGrail, Leo Neville, Tom Robinson, Conrad Schwartz and Richard Smith. Candidates can withdraw their names until 4 p.m. Friday if they wish to be removed from the primary election ballot. The field of 13 council candidates will be narrowed to eight in the city's primary election on Aug. 2. The eight remaining candidates would run in the general election on Nov. 8 to fill four seats on the council currently held by Pastor, Schwartz, Toy and Brian Meakin with the top three finishers serving four-year terms and the fourth a two-year term. Meakin is term limited, according to the city charter, on the council and cannot seek re-election to that office in this election. kabramcz@hometownlife.com | (313) 222-2591 |

Shame, she's such a visionary when it comes to Livonia's future and as we all know is never wrong. Yet nearly 3 years later, these words of wisdom seem so naive... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fk7_qO6DNRo Edited by Monkfish, May 15 2011, 03:26 AM.

So what? Who cares?

She was right about Randy's Legacy, Randy's raise, and Everyday Math too! Cha-ching! She was right when she voted "No" on the teacher concessions. Go Lynda! But.....then she turned around and gave the super a big, fat raise. Even so, she was still right. I always appreciate when she corrects the public on camera because it makes her look so much smarter than everyone else. If not for her great wisdom, we would think that the school district is doing a poor job. |
