The schools exist to educate, not employ.
You may remember that not too long ago, the police were called to keep me from violating the board policy restricting cameras to the back of the room.

I decided to get a look at this vaunted policy, and had to file the following FOIA to get a chance to see it:

Dear FOIA Coordinator:

Please provide me a copy of the following documents:

•The policy that Lynda Scheel said was adopted in 1998, forcing people to videotape from the back of the room.
•The minutes from the board meeting where this policy was adopted.

Here is the response. Anyone want to tell me how I broke these rules?

By the way, the MASB handbook (the board's bible) has a discussion on "Disorderly Conduct".

The bylaw regarding videotaping appears to me to apply only to those in the media, which makes sense because in 1988, how many people had their own video camera or recording devices? It would seem that Bylaws should be revisited and updated more frequently than every 20+ years!!

In order for these to apply, my taping would have to qualify as "Board Meeting News Coverage".

Talk about tortured logic.

I pointed out thier logic (or lack thereof) to them on 5/2/11. I also advised I would be tapeing from the front row at the next meeting.

Randy and Lynda's answers are vintage LPS.

Typical Scheel response, "it is so because I say it is". She never has anything concrete to back up her statements. The only "policy in place"regarding this issue, is the one she fabricates in her swollen head.

Of course, Randy too. He tries to make Loyd look like the unreasonable one with his comments.

These people are nothing but an embarrassment.

IMHO, if they are soooooooo disrupted by the fact that there is a video camera in the first row, they really need to find another job. If one video camera in the front row makes them call the police, what else do they find so disruptive?
