State Funding Rally Save Our Schools, a statewide organization, is organizing a rally on Tuesday, November 10, at the State Capitol. Attendees are protesting the negative impact of school funding decisions on educating children. Concerned community members across the state will gather at the Capitol steps at 10:00 a.m. Our LPS group will also be meeting with our local state legislators – please gather around the LPS sign on the Capitol steps. Let’s all wear something that identifies us as representing LPS when we meet with our legislators. We will also be delivering our LPS petitions to all key legislators and the Governor on Tuesday, which now number over 2,500 signatures! Remember, key leaders have promised us that they would restore our 20j funding of $5 million. We need to hold them to this promise! Be a part of this opportunity to have our voices heard. For more information, please call Jill Wozniak at 734-744-2510. Millage Support We are so grateful to parents, staff and community that came out in big numbers in support of our schools yesterday. Both millages passed by almost 4 to 1 margins. Thanks to everyone for coming together on this important vote! |

Key leaders promised to restore funding? Who? I think Walsh and that other guy who spoke at the meeting said they didn't want to give them false hope. Good luck! |

Promises, Promises http://www.jango.com/music/Naked+Eyes?l=0 Good luck on that one. Time would be better spent figuring out what to do. But while you are up there, protest to the MEA also. 300 million in MESSA funds could really help. |

The schools exist to educate, not employ.
