Robert George Johnson was arraigned Monday on one count each of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and second-degree criminal sexual conduct, and a habitual offender, third offense, charge due to two prior felony convictions unrelated to criminal sexual assault, according to Detective Tim Larion. A cash or surety bond of $90,000 was set. Johnson remains in the Wayne County Jail. Larion said the suspect attended a party at a co-worker's home in Livonia near the area of Five Mile and Newburgh. The homeowner gave the suspect an opportunity to sleep in his home because it was believed the guest had too much to drink to drive home, Larion said. “He gave him the opportunity to sleep in the basement on the couch,” Larion said. Some time around 2:30 or 3 a.m. the suspect went upstairs to the second floor of the home, went into the 7-year-old's bed and sexually assaulted her, Larion said. The girl's mother and stepfather were awakened by the girl's cries, and when she told them what happened, they called police. The man tried to run to his vehicle, then fled to a neighbor's home and hid in some bushes when the girl's stepfather prevented him from getting to his car, Larion said. He was arrested a short time later by Livonia police. Johnson's preliminary examination was set for 9 a.m. Tuesday in 16th District Court. |
| I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be WRONG. | |

Sick. He won't be locked up long enough for his horrible crime. Hopefully the judge will give him the maximum a repeat offender can get. That poor little girl. My heart and prayers go out to her. |
