Newbie Posts: 4 Group: Members Member #374 Joined: May 12, 2009	I have recently discovered that I and a few neighbors did not get their water bill for this quarter. An inquiry at City Hall confirmed that they have had several residents report missing water bills. I was also told that if you do not inquire at City Hall and pay the bill, you will be assesed at late fee on the next bill. If you have not received a recent water bill, then you need to get a copy of it from City Hall; water dept is on the 2nd floor. Please pass the word to your neighbors.

Advanced Member Posts: 1,071 Group: Members Member #29 Joined: May 10, 2007	It was more than just 'you and a few neighbors' I think a whole lot of residents in Livonia, did not receive their water bill (on time) compared to those that did. The city should just remail all water bills that haven't been paid. Since they only come four times per year, the water bill is something that could easily get forgotten, until you went to flush the toilet, or take a shower. : from City of Livonia website WATER BILLS A number of the May 2009 water and sewer bills were misplaced by the City's mailing company and were not delivered to the post office. We are unsure which customers with zip code 48154 have not yet received their bills. Please call the Water Department at 734-466-2278 to receive a copy of your water bill and ensure that you will not be charged a penalty.

This is not a US Post Office problem, it was a City employee/department problem. There should be no penalty for late payment, IMO, the City should sent out reminders w/o penalty to those who don't pay. Or resend all 48154 bills. Then penalize the City's mailing company - NOT the citizen. How many people actually look at the Livonia website? I don't. How many don't know they have not received a bill? How about putting a notice on the Livonia channel? How about an article in the Observer? The next city newsletter? Or pal up with the schools and put a notice in the completely useless Liepa newsletter we just received?
