The sisters are progressive. Every child they bring into the fold often stays.

American Montessori Academy is also extending their campus. Their 5th and 6th grade are moving to Beech and Six Mile. My child is on the waiting list for 5th grade. I will drive that far every day if I'm lucky enough to be called. If the charter school was interested, it would be great if it could rent a school from Livonia. However, I've heard they're looking for property. My middle child, who has gone through Cooper, is begging me not to send my younger one there. But the middle one does love Emerson.

What does your child say about Cooper?

A number of our neighbors have met with Dr. Liepa twice this summer about the Hull property and drug activity...He has repaired lighting and put up a fence on the cemetery side of the building...If you see any drug activity, please try and get make, model, plate # and time of day to Officer Mike Killingbeck, mkillingbeck@lpdmail.com (he says he reads his email every morning) or 734-466-2324.

Please pass the word that the Hulll site is being considered for demolition soon...Dr. Liepa is asking for neighborhood input...He is going to make a recommendation to the school board Sept. 1st 2009. He is talking about removing the building and making it a "green space"...We had hoped for a new updated park, but that doesn't seem to be in the plan...Dr. Liepa said they would leave the remaining playground equipment and plant some grass seed...Some equipment was removed a few weeks ago, because the schools said it did not meet today's safety standards...

Please spread the word...Time is short...What do you think?...Contact Dr. Randy Liepa through the Livonia Public Schools website or by phone 734-744-2510/ the Livonia School Board members. Next school board meeting Aug. 17th.
Is anyone surprised that LPS let Hull fall into disrepair and now they plan on tearing it down? They had it in their power to keep that school in decent condition, but they let it go. Now it needs to be demolished. Makes one wonder if that wasn't their plan all along, eh? Charter school/shmarter school ^o)

And don't hold your breath on the play structures, either. I wouldn't be surprised if they took those down, too. They took the beautiful play structures down at Webster when they demolished that school. They were in fantastic condition and would have been a nice thing to have in the new 'green space' in the neighborhood.

"plant some grass seed":

Who's going to water? This time of year is very hot, and grass seed needs lots of tending to. The birds will eat it, and weeds will pop up. Unless Hull neighbors use their own resources.

I can't visualize the playscape at Webster, was it the new 50-60K green playscapes. Many schools had those just placed 6-8 years ago. I know some of the schools still have the steel monkey bars from 50 years ago, still standing, still strong and still safe.

The good ol' days of hanging upside down with your legs wrapped around the top rung.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be WRONG.

The schools exist to educate, not employ.
It's the bulldozer for Hull, with Clay not far behind.

Sigh.....

Well, what did you expect when Randy went to such lengths to kill neighborhood schools.

You wont find many complaints in our neighborhood. The building is nothing but trouble. But, didn't we all say that would happen a few years ago?

In the end, Randy gets his way. Neglect the property until the giggest supporters of the building want it torn down.

Ready to vote for that Millage Hull Neighbors?
