The subject of drug dealing at Hull elementery was brought up at 5/18 BOE meeting. Has anyone else heard about this? How bad of a problem is it?

Drugs at Hull?

Yes. There have been cars meeting and doing "deals" in the parking lot. A warning to those doing it. You are being watched, and you will be busted.

We should all alert the cops that this is going on. Nightly busts can clean this mess up.

ANOTHER FINE MESS THAT LIEPA CREATED. Thanks Randy, for turning our neighborhoods into crack alleys!

Please don't tell me that no one saw this coming. The school looks like a crack house for goodness sake. Just west of Hull off of Lyndon is a wooded area, and there are drug deals done in there all the time. Theres a red Suburban Door truck there at least once a week, sometimes twice, going in to get his stuff.

Before anyone tells me to call the police, I have, he's gone before they get there. He comes at differant times and days. I'm going to try to get his plate number and report it next time.

Hull is in mighty sad shape.

Here are a couple of pictures I took on Sat.

You can still see signs of what a great school it was, peaking through the neglect.

However, its current shape is hard to miss. There are literally dozens of boarded up windows, graffiti, eggs thrown against the doors, etc. Talk about a sign of the times.

This is just so sad. I realize that LPS cannot really stop drug sales from happening on the grounds, but when you let a building and it's grounds fall into such disrepair, you invite trouble. Why are they allowing long grass to grow in the planting beds? Why aren't shrubs being trimmed? Are windows still boarded up? This is outrageous. If I lived in that neighborhood, I would be furious.

The city sure wouldn't let a home owner get away with leaving their property in this condition.

What a great point...

This is sad on so many levels, but I attended Hull. Looking at the pictures of the side of the school with all those boarded up windows just reminds me of the time my 2nd grade teacher would take us out to that very spot and read to us on a hot spring day.

Shame on you LPS!!!!!

Yes, it is very tough. It is hard to look at, and believe you are in Livonia. Most of the kids on my ball team are from the neighborhood, and I actually had second thoughts about practicing there. The throngs of people that watch the Spree fireworks at Hull will get another look, and continue to spread the word about what a nice neighborhood it looks like :'( . Thanks for posting the updated pictures, it has only gotten worse since the last time I posted them.

Exactly. Maybe it is because the school is not on a main road, back where people can't see it. Only people that have to live with it every day. I am reaching the breaking point with this, and it may become much more public, very, very soon.

It would be nice if EVERYONE who sat there for the Spree fireworks wrote a letter to LPS. Any way to post signs to ask them to do that? Maybe give them the address on the sign?

That might be a good idea. I am sure the boarded up hulk that used to be Hull Elementary will help attract new residents to our city. It is a shame that people don't realize how many people watch the fireworks there, and view Livonia as a ghetto when looking at that disaster of a building.

Here is a link to view some recent photos of Hull....

I wonder who does all the damage with the broken windows and spray painting? Do you think it is outsiders coming in our the area kids with nothing better to do?

Does it matter who did it? Do you honestly believe the City of Livonia would allow me to keep my windows boarded up for three years? No way. I would be cited immediately.

Yes it does. Those windows wouldn't need to boarded if whoever keeps breaking em would stop. It is ridiculous to keep paying for replacement windows. While I won't dispute how unpleasant it must be to have a closed school or foreclosed home in your neighborhood, the fact remains the anger should be directed at those causing the damage. As an aside, maybe some of our fine art students could paint murals on the boards. It wouldn't cost anything and wouldn't cost to replace.
