E-Billing The utilities and other companies want us to use e-billing and print our own records, etc, to "save" money? Whose money? Not ours. Unless you get a discount from the billing company for using e-billing, stay away from it. Yes, it's a stamp and a check, but you remain in control. It is very hard to get e-billing stopped, once started. And, correcting errors can be mighty hard. Why? 1. Many of your service providers are using 3rd-world nations to handle customer service. Mangled English and robotic scripting, when trying to resolve a money problem, is aggravating and time-consuming. And, why give these companies your money, if they won't hire US service providers, who do a much better job? The companies' excuse that it is too "expensive" is short-sighted. Not taking care of customers, and then losing their customers, is what is expensive. Bundling Is it a good idea or not? It might be and it might not be. A friend of mine, out of work for 6 months now, had trouble paying his full bundle bill--phone, ISP and cable. Because the services and billing were bundled, he lost all 3 services--when he could've made a payment on one or two of the services--and let the only one ride for now. Think before you bundle. |
