Women have been ''fainting'' at Obama gathers for years now. What's up with THAT? I saw a montage of film clips dating back a few years now and it all had the same method of operation, Obama using almost same words, etc. Is this thing suspect? If true, this seems a bit more than just ''politics as usual''. This guy is a bit out there with his schitck. He now reminds me of those snake oil traveling salesmen or a carnie guy.

I heard a bit of Obama's ''speech'' the other day and I could not help having and recalling the unfortunate drones of gatherers at the 'ol Jonestown fiasco many years ago.
And now of Omaba's followers are hanging on his every word and swooning like some cool-aid drinkers.
As I was listening I could not for the life of me decipher what the heck the man was talking about. I can't get his message. Him and his wife are a perfect pair .... I don't understand either of them. Just another couple of socialists wanting to make and leave their mark on history.

If Obama made sense that would be one thing. I think he is a loose cannon and I personally would be afraid to put him in office.

Haha, I really think your comment is amusing....more of a loose cannon then someone who gets us into an illegal, immoral, endless war, is systematically stripping us of the rights that said soldiers have swore to uphold, depleting our middle class, neglecting our infrastructure such as roads, schools, and national guard...wow, you know you might be right, someone who speaks about ending war, helping out the middle class with jobs, affordable healthcare and education opportunities for children....sounds like such a loose cannon to me.

And I wonder how I could ask myself how Bush got elected a second time.

I agree Micki. Obama does not make sense, primarily because he doesn't say anything substantial. He says we need change------agreed, but what kind of change exactly. He never says how he will do anything.

I do not want another democrat(Obama is really left of the democrats IMO) who comes in and further deplets the military(Revisit Clinton), pulls out of the war without stronger boarders and a better plan, and provides healthcare for everyone on the backs of the middle class.

He is a loose cannon and he has no concrete direction.

(BTW--thank God it was Bush in there when 911 occurred. If it was Bill Clinton, he probably would have done nothing except cut the military budget--just as he always did.)

Bush's response to 9/11

1) Invade Afghanistan (made sense until he took his eye off the ball and allowed bin Laden to escape). BTW - Have you noticed the Taliban are making a major come-back.

2) Invade Iraq - There was never a connection between Iraq & 9/11. Now Iraq is a major training ground for international terrorists.

3) Declare "mission accomplished" and dress-up on an aircraft carrier.

4) Trash the bill of rights.

5) Illegally spy on Americans.

6) Instill fear to cover-up incompetence.

and on and on and on....

I think Bush has made some mistakes although I am not sure the litany of subjective mistakes listed above are factual. Clearly many of the problems that Bush faced were already in place when he took office. I think Clinton has to bear some of the responisbility for that.

The world has been changing - particularly the way wars are fought. We all want to be safe. Safety from terrorism, however, requires certain methods that some do not have the stomach for. I am curious what solution Gore or Kerry would have offered - if any.

I do not know what the 'right' course of action is. We need to make intelligent decisions with the information that we have. Painting one side evil or incompetent seems like the wrong approach in my opinion.

Those are the fact. Face it, this country is far worse off following the last eight years. As far as "what would Gore or Kerry have done?" I suspect they would not have ignored Richard Clarke.

Leave A ‘Strategy To Fight Al Qaeda’

In her interview with the New York Post, Condoleezza Rice claims that the Clinton Administration did not develop a strategy to fight al Qaeda:

The secretary of state also sharply disputed Clinton’s claim that he “left a comprehensive anti-terror strategy” for the incoming Bush team during the presidential transition in 2001.

“We were not left a comprehensive strategy to fight al Qaeda,” Rice responded during the hourlong session.

Here’s what the 9/11 Commission Report has to say about it:

As the Clinton administration drew to a close, Clarke and his staff developed a policy paper of their own [which] incorporated the CIA’s new ideas from the Blue Sky memo, and posed several near-term policy options. Clarke and his staff proposed a goal to “roll back” al Qaeda over a period of three to five years …[including] covert aid to the Northern Alliance, covert aid to Uzbekistan, and renewed Predator flights in March 2001. A sentence called for military action to destroy al Qaeda command-and control targets and infrastructure and Taliban military and command assets. The paper also expressed concern about the presence of al Qaeda operatives in the United States.” [p. 197]

Clarke, who also worked for the Bush administration, wrote Condoleezza Rice a memo as soon as the Bush administration took office, stating, “[W]e urgently need…a Principals level review of the al Qida network.” His request was denied.
