A friend comes over on your birthday with a gift.  You say, "Oh, no!  You shouldn't have!"  You realize that you are in better financial shape than your friend who has been struggling, but you accept the gift.  Does that make you a hypocrite?

Yes.

He should have voted no if he has an issue with the PTA's buying playground equipment. He votes no every week on the consent agenda because he doesn't like the way bills for payment work. Personally, I don't care one way or the other if PTA's want to supplement the playground equipment I just think if he goes the extra to make a negative comment about it he should vote no on accepting the gift otherwise he is a hypocrite.

You supporters would have had fire blowing out of your ears if SK had rejected the gift, or had made a motion to accept half of it. :o

Don't you get it?

SK doesn't feel that the PTA should HAVE TO supplement the equipment, but he'll accept their gift which is ALSO FOR FIELD TRIPS, instead of snubbing it.
It's not like it is blood money or anything.

This should be the sentiment of the entire BOE, and I'm sure will be a topic of future discussion - but for now, the entire BOE has accepted the gift. Yipee!! Thank you Buchanan PTA. (Although I apparently have no authority to comment on this, right Renee, since I don't belong to the Buchanan PTA, nor do my kids attend that school)

I am done discussing this facet of the meeting. I'll focus now on the outrageous actions of the BOE President and Secretary last night.

I hope that someone will post the video soon.

By Steve voting no on the consent agenda does that mean he doesn't believe that the minutes from prior meetings are valid or that the checks to be paid to the government for taxes, or to the unions for union dues or to the referee's for high school games are valid?

And you do have the right to comment about the buchanan pta, just don't be hypocritical in doing so or I will have to point it out to you.

As for the video, will you post the one where Steve says he doesn't want the Margaret Flower case tried in the media. Funny how he can make comments like "very damning" and "cost us millions" to the newspaper based upon either (i) not having a copy of the complaint or (ii) in just reading it at central office.

Can someone please post a video of the meeting from last night?
Particularly when Scheel got nasty with Steve King for questioning bills for payment and when Mr. Spence came forth to the podium.
Thanks

I don't think she got nasty with sk for questioning bills for payment, she was "nasty" as you like to call it for sk once again trying to make something look like its not. He made it sound like he didn't have a chance to ask Lisa about bills for payment because Friday was a snow day and Lisa was out for personal reasons on Monday when in fact the stooge talked to Lisa earlier in the day.

She comes across very "NASTY"! Sorry, but true.

What choice do you have when Steve goes out of his way to make someone look bad, who wasn't there to defend herself and for which he had no basis to do so when she in fact reached out to him to answer his questions?

I think you may not understand the finer nuances of communication in this example. "Oh no! You shouldn't have!" is not normally meant literally. People often say one thing but do another out of courtesy and respect. That doesn't make one a hypocrite.

You can post those clips right next to the others. Like when Scheel was degrading the Mayor for having ( ohmygosh!) an opinion on the LI. Or when freeman was ranting (urp) ummmmm.... I've got better things to do on a Monday night (urrrpp), or maybe the infamous "Mr. Schultz, please remove this person from the podium" moment during Kevins last stand (and the queens failure to perfrom her elected duties). Or how about the numerous little errors, like calling a meeting to recess taking a vote, but never reconvening it, thus rendering the second half of the meeting illegal, or maybe the campaigning on camera during the BOE campign where her skunky bun buddy got ousted - kind of illegal to use public resources to campaign there herr queen. Or maybe the numerous quips like "Come Forth" when somebody is approaching the podium or table. The endless string of clips could win you numerous prizes on those blooper shows!

They are all hilarious to watch, but totally degrading examples of leadership. Carry on!

That'd be the day. If she gave any answers they were nothing but circular logic!

I think we are all still waiting for her (Lisa) to reach out and answer questions like:

1. How much has the LI cost so far?

2. Again, How much of a budget surplus did we have prior to the LI, that would have indicated to some on the BOE that we were near recievership?

Just 2 of many questions that will never have anyone "reaching out" to answer. :(

Good, you busy yourself with that, and we'll ask Jimid to see if he put a lock on it and you can have it all to yourself. ;)

Well, with your shack right down the road from his house, I'm sure that you have become familiar with him as a neighbor.

I must ask... are you stalking him?

Leftovers? Awww, You jealous??

Pfffffff You honestly haven't seen Danny's waistline?

But seriously, I myself could give a crud what these people do in their personal life - I don't care.
When they enter the boardroom or are representing the district, they are fair game for all criticizm.

So... you go ahead and start a thread about SK. Try limiting it to his BOE experience instead of his personal life. I'll bet your "5 pages" will whittle down to less than 1 page at best, unless your going to explain 'begging for leftovers' part too.

Damnit why dont I get your rules? You can rip on any board member whether it is their waistline or burping or anything else personal, but the minute someone talks about your wolf in sheeps clothes you get all bent out of shape. And you wonder why no one takes you seriously?

And you wonder why no one takes you seriously?

A person could ask the very same of some of the supporters of the BOE, as to why they are not taken seriously. It begs to raise the question of "how many of you have children in the district directly impacted by their school being closed, or having to transition 4 times in 3 years, or maybe having to take on bussing for the first time in their lives". How can some of us take you seriously when you defend the actions of the LPS Administration and the BOE without taking on the full impact of the consequences of their actions in your home, family, children, & daily lives.

As for myself, I fail to understand what necessitates your stallworth, and almost fanatical allegiance to them. It does not make sense. It defies wisdom & logic. It borders on being inane.
