http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/15123073/detail.html Kroger Shifting Jobs Out Of Michigan Grocery Store Chain, Kroger, is moving hundreds of jobs out of Michigan. POSTED: 6:43 pm EST January 23, 2008 UPDATED: 7:07 pm EST January 23, 2008 The Kroger Co. announced Wednesday that it will allow its service agreement with SuperValu ALM facility in Livonia to expire. Kroger will shift responsibility for servicing its Michigan stores to a modern facility Kroger operates in Delaware, Ohio, by the end of March. Kroger moved the sourcing of selected products for its Michigan stores to the Delaware facility more than a year ago. Kroger said that any SuperValu ALM warehouse and transportation employees interested in getting a job are welcome to submit an application to work in Delaware or another Kroger distribution location. Kroger recently established a new Michigan Retail Division, headquartered in Novi, to focus on its growth in the state and the 138 stores the company currently operates throughout the state. |

This move has been in place for over a year now. It's no surprise but still a huge disappointment. |

Similar to the Quicken move, which too, had been in the works for several years as well. |

Which didn't stop the Jackenaughts from implying that voting in 'ol Jack would keep them in Livonia. |

Oh I don't think voters were lead that in that direction; it seems the message (back in September and October) was that Quicken would probably be leaving Livonia and Brosnan should contact her friend and get them to stay, since of course it was Granholm's fault that Quicken left Livonia  . It's pretty obvious all that was missing was the news conference confirming the move. |
