NFL Flag Football wrapped up its first season in Livonia today. I think it was beyond a great success!

It was awesome that the league and LPS were able to get the games played on the High School football fields. I think that really made a difference, and can help promote our schools and the league at the same time.

Football is a great game, and this league really makes it accessible for all of our kids, and for many more parents that like to be involved. It teaches the basics of football for parents, kids, boys, girls, grandparents, great grandparents....you name it! It prepares the kids that would like to move on to tackle football. But they can do it at their own pace. AND, they can still play football if they choose not to move on.

Great league, great families.

There might be a spring league, so check the Michigan Youth Flag Football website for more info.

We just loved this league! It gave my son a chance to try football without the every day practice committment that you have to make with LJAL. The games were so exciting and the kids all got lots of chance to play. I only wish it would go beyond 6th grade. You gotta check this out if you have a boy with any interest in football.

I totally, 100% agree. This was an awesome league enjoyed by all. It is a great opportunity for kids to play football without the huge time commitment to LJAL. While the kids learned football fundamentals, the time commitment is minimal (games are only an hour and we only practiced one day a week) allowing those involved in hockey or soccer to still participate in this football league.

Not only boys enjoyed this league....we played teams with girls and they were having a great time learning. We played a team today who's fastest, most determined player was a girl. She was awesome :D

The best thing about this league was that the kids got lots of field time. We have friends with a kid in LJAL-the kid only played for 5 min per game. Such a huge time commitment for practices and next to no playing time.

This league was great for teaching kids the fundamentals and giving them lots of opportunities to practice what they were learning!!!
