Dear Holmes and Riley Families:

We would like to make you aware of an incident that occurred Thursday morning in one of our attendance areas. A student reported to a Holmes’ police liaison officer that a dark colored minivan, approximately 5-6 years old, traveled very slowly heading down Wentworth towards Henry Ruff (just north of Riley Upper Elementary School). The driver did not approach the student, but did mumble something to the Holmes student. This student felt very uncomfortable and reported the incident to his parents.

Livonia Police have been notified and a special attention bulletin has been reported.

Please take this opportunity to discuss safety with your child(ren) and remind them that under no circumstances are they to approach an unknown vehicle. As always, the safety of the children is our top priority. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact one of us.

Sincerely,

Eric Stromberg, Principal, Holmes
Dr. Laura Wallace, Assistant Principal, Holmes
Colette Ivey, Principal, Riley
Cindy Scott, Principal, Riley

A second round of Kudos to the kid who reported to their parent and the parent who reported it to the police and informed the schools.
