I had far fewer trick or treaters than last year. Did anyone else notice this at their house as well?

I typically don't get a ton of kids, but I got about 1/2 the number I did last year. I also noticed their weren't as many kids on the streets we visited as last year either.

Just wondering.

Seems to get less and less every year.

I put my blow-up pumpkin decoration on the lawn last weekend. Then looked up and down the street and noticed I was the only one on the entire block with lawn decorations.

Kids still managed to get way too much candy, but they have to go farther each year to get it as less and less houses participate.

I heard it is due to the ecomony. Kids would rather buy their own candy instead of getting it for free.  I heard it from someone at the LPS Central Office---not sure how reliable the information is......

I agree, mine still got more candy than they need (or I need for that matter.)

Plus we have our leftovers. I've heard of churches who collect it for Servicemen serving in active duty. Does anyone know of someone doing this?

I've heard that some dentists are willing to pay 1 dollar a pound for Halloween candy.

If I find out who/ where, I'll let you know.

I heard some pay and are then sending it to soldiers in Iraq. Don't know how you find out who is involved though.

A retired Marshall teacher Aaron Engel has been collecting and delivering extra halloween treats to the Methodist Children's Home for over 25 yrs. If you choose to contribute, please send your candy in by Nov. 2 Friday. Mr. Engell will pick up and deliver on Monday..Collection boxes will be located in the office at Riley School.

Thanks Bailey. I'll drop it there tomorrow!

Mr. Engell was there when I went to Marshall. Um...15 years ago. Yeah... that's it 15 years. ;)

In our area we had TONS of kids. Most ran out of candy around 7:30. We went thru 6 large bags. I thought we had a lot more kids on our street.
