Time to express our outrage over the Laura Toy hit piece (s)
The Treasurer of the Citizens for a Better Tomorrow is listed on the Independent Political Committee cover page, October 25, 2007, is Todd Cook.
His residential phone number and his mailing address phone number is listed on this filing with the Secretary of State as 517-487-0315.
When calling this number you will get a company called Main Street Strategies.
I am encouraging as many people as possible to call this publically accessible phone number, recorded on filings with the State of Michigan in a public document, and ask for Todd Cook.
The message to leave if he is not there is simple:
Why do developers from West Bloomfield along with a company in Lansing Michigan want to spend thousands of dollars on a Livonia City Council election. You don't live in Livonia. You don't work in Livonia. Stay out of Livonia.
If enough people call they will get a sense of how upset Livonia is about these horrific campaign pieces of literatue being sent out about Laura Toy.
This phone number was obtained from a public document required when setting up a PAC.
And this thread started where? This is a good suggestion, and something we should all do to help stop this stuff.

These people are a joke. They complain over and over again about how Maureen is 'jenniferized' and what a shame it is that Jenny donated so much money to her campaign, but then they completely admonish the entire list of Krooksey supporters from Wayne 11 who funded all the nasty mailers.
It is unacceptable for Maureen to even accept Democrat party $$ to use for her clean campaign, but it is okay for all Jack's supporters to contribute to a Republican PAC which exploits citizens by sending out ridiculously false mailers.
Can they hear themselves? They are such hypocrites--
THAT is not the point. The point is that Maureen keeps stating over and over that this in a non-partisan race. That is why the $10K donation from Granholm is being brought up.
A non-partisain race does not mean that you cannot accept donations from people who identify themselves as Democrat or Republican. That's just silly.

I completely agree. But you shouldn't claim to be an independent candidate while accepting $10K in donations from the biggest Democrat in the state. Kirksey said his affiliations are Republican, but the office of Mayor is neither Republican or Democrat.
If Maureen had stated from the get go that she does have Democratic ties and acknowledged her closeness with Granholm, it would have been a little harder for them to use the $10K donation against her.

Agreed. I think it is especially disgusting that Todd Cook's wife is the main fundraiser for Granholm. It makes our whole state look bad. Here is Toy who has dedicated her life to serve Livonia and Michigan and someone (whomever it is) really just wants to hurt her reputation.

All the more reason I'll be voting for Laura Toy. Thanks for the reminder!

So, no real response to the fact that Todd Cook's wife is the main fundraiser for Granholm?

What stuck out in your post was the reminder of how much Laura Toy dedicates herself to the city and state!
THANKS AGAIN!

Laura Toy is not running for governor. Laura Toy is running for City Council in this rockin city of Livonia. She sincerely listens to residents and if she has a different viewpoint she'll discuss that with you. You're correct Laura Toy has dedicated herself to serving her constituents.
Slamming and mud slinging is too harsh and slippery for this voter. Time to send out an email, to my voting friends to ignore the trash delivered to their mailboxes. I'm with you, I give no credit or worth to the originator or the mailer. Laura Toy's integritiy and character will stand out.
|
|
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be WRONG.

I believe you LR, and it wouldn't surprise me. Did I mention that I am going to vote for Toy? But if you really want to find the Brosnan connection to that mailer, I would like to see some proof of that. I just got the impression that is the link you were sort of trying to make. Sorry if I am wrong.

I am not trying to make the connection that it was Maureen persay. I'm trying to point out that Democrats are involved in the mud slinging too, it's not just the Republican party. Does that make more sense?
I'm glad Toy has people behind her. I really hope they don't hit her again, especially with the disgutingness (if that's a word) that they did with the first one.
