It seems to me that all the BOE members present were satisfied with Liepa's performance, the 2 that voted no state that the only reason they voted no was because of the extra year of his extension, not because they were dissatisfied with the job he is doing.
Perhaps, knowing they were outvoted, they were just trying to be politically correct. I don't necessarily agree with that if that is what they did. They should have the decency and dignity to call it as they see it. The fact that there were 2 "NO" votes speaks more to their real thoughts than the quotes in the paper. Don't know if it is true but I did hear the OE misquoted one of the board members.
I am not sure if Mrs. Mang was misquoted but I did watch the BOE meeting on the computer and Steve King stated that the reason he voted no on Liepa's contract was because of the 5 years.
