Drina
Flighty Fey
Drina had kicked and screamed at the door for what seemed like hours but was probably only minutes when her Captor had made his statements about her name then abruptly left.

Now she layed curled up in the corner. At least her head had a pillow to rest on now. Over the course of the night she had pulled the clean Tshirt up through the collar. Putting the material between her and the metal that irritated her skin. Now that she had the clean blanket to wrap herself in she had the luxury to do this.

But now that she was awake her mind was racing again. Thinking back on what he had said about not caring about her name or seeing anyone ever again that knew it. She hated him with a new passion for all of that. His moments of niceness, letting her clean, bringing her the pillow and blanket, that gentle stroke of her cheek. They had all been ploys to calm her down and make her not fight. But he had reminded her in the end that he wasn't nice. She had to keep reminding herself of that. That no matter what nice little thing he did he was holding her prisoner. And she had to get out before he tapped her dry.

She turned over pulling the blanket tightly around her. Was it morning? Would he becoming soon? She needed to form a plan. Needed to be as ruthless as him if she were to get out of here. The problem was Drina knew that she was not that person. She would have to work on becoming that person. But with your life on the line learning new tricks seemed possible.

Dominic had woke early, granted it was hard to judge what was early and what was late since it was always dark in Detriot, but once you got used to the place it wasn't so hard anymore.

He had gotten ready and headed out to pick a few things up, a matress for one, he was going to get her some sheets but at the last minute thought against it wanting to avoid a suicide attempt. He did however grab a thick comforter and a big fluffy feather pillow. He also got a bed frame for the small twin mattress to rest on getting her farther from the concrete.

he stopped by a local book store and couldn't resist buying " The Sleeping Beauty Chronicles" by A.N. Roquelaure, it was a series that he had been quite fond of, and that he thought would do her imagination good.

He got back to the tunnels around eleven in the afternoon, he had picked up a pizza on the way over, and even thought to grab a two liter of Pepsi. He hoped she would appreciate the gestures he had made towards her comfort, though he doubted that she would since she probably hated him for imprisoning her.

Dominic opened the door leaving the items including the pizza in the hallway. He closed the door behind him and walked towards her, a silver chain dangling from his left hand. He approached the girl, looking into her eyes as he attatched the chain to the hoop on the front of her collar. He then attached the other end of the chain to a hook on the far corner of the room. He wanted her secure so that while he moved in the frame and mattress he wouldn't have to deal with any escape attempts.

" It's only for a minute, I've brought you some presents." He said beaming at her, before turning and exiting the room.

He began bringing in the items and assembling the frame, catching glimpses of her from the corner of his eye as he worked. When the bed was set up, and he'd even arrange the fluffy comforter, he laid the books out on the end of the bed.

" I also picked you up some reading material, I hope you enjoy it, I know I did the first time I read them, and every time since." He said smiling, he finally grabbed the pizza and soda, setting out two paper plates and two plastic glasses on the bed.

When he had finished setting everything out, he made sure to close and secure the door, then went over and unchained her from the wall, walking her, chain still attatched to her collar, over to the bed.

" I thought I would join you for your lunch, you must get lonely and I thought even though you must hate me, that you might still enjoy a little company." He smiled opening the top of the pizza box and putting a slice on each plate, then pooring them each a glass of soda.

By the time he made his entrance Drina had been up and trying to read the copy of Moby Dick he had left her. She couldn't get past the first page though. It didn't grab her interest at all. And frankly there were to many big words. So She sat with the pillow tucked behind her head against the wall staring at the door.

When it did finally open she stared daggers at her captor as he entered carrying a chain. She nearly snarled at him as he came in so easily and attached it to the collar about her throat. Visions of him taking her out in public on the chain danced on her head. Remembering how he spoke of walking her on collar and leash the night before. "I am not a pet." Drina said softly watching as he attatched the other end to a hook in the wall. She narrowed her eyes as he explained it was only for a minute and he had brought presents.

She was still scowling even as he smiled at her. *He's in prisoned you. He's a bastard. He's taking your blood. He's taken everything from you.* She kept telling herself.

She stood up as he started bring stuff in. Furniture she realized and her hard gaze softened a little. Her aching back nearly melted as he began setting it up. She began pacing the little the chain allowed her as he set up a bed. No sheets but a comforter and pillow at least. And he set out books. Then he brought it pizza and more importantly soda. Her eyes lit up upon seeing that. Sugar fiend that she was.

She watched as he set everything out on the bed then came over to her. Her eyes moved away from him. When he unhooked her from the wall but not the collar and started walking, pulling her by leash towards the bed she wanted to fight to dig her heels in out of spit and not follow him like an obediant pet. But the soda was over there... so she reasoned that she wasn't following him, she was going where she wanted to go.

She glanced at the books at the end of the bed as she came over. The titles just made it sound infinetly better then that moby dick stuff. She sat on the floor, so the bed was sorta their table as he layed out lunch and explained how he would be joining her for lunch. She snorted reaching for the glass of soda and quickly taking a couple chugs of it.

"Being company means actually interacting with the person your with. But you don't want to tell me anything about yourself. And you don't want to know anything about me so I don't know how good a company you'll be." She said trying to get some digs on him.

She then quickly grabbed up the pizza and began chowing down. She never had finished the stew from last night. And she was hungry. She didn't look at him. She just focused on her food and drink.

She broke her own statement then by making stupid small talk. "You know there really was a sleeping beauty..." She flinched as she caught herself saying it and shoved more pizza in her mouth.

(OOC: You know I love those books LOL)

He watched as she grabbed some pizza and soda, listening to her when she said pretty much said he wasn't good company. Perhaps she had been right, he was being rather strict with her, and yesterday he may have gone a little overboard with the no name thing, but he still felt that he needed keep a standard of control in place.

He grabbed a slice of pizza, granted he didn't need to eat, but sure did enjoy the process. He took a bite, chewed and swallowed, and even washed it down with some soda, before he responded to her comment.

" Perhaps your right, if we are to get along at all I suppose I should tell you a little about myself." He took another drink of his pop.

" I used to be a pirate, I still enjoy working on the other side of the law, as you can well tell by your situation. I'm very old, I enjoy a good strong drink often, and I love to smoke." He stated feeling that it was a good enough start. He smiled like a fox that had caught a hen.

" Is that more to your standards of company?" He asked jokeingly.

She turned to him, still chewing the huge chunk of pizza she had bitten off, as he stated that perhaps she was right. And that they could get to know each other better. Her eyes narrowed suspiciously though. Was this another one of his mind games?

She continued chewing as he laid out his brief bio. Her eyes grew a little wide as he said he was a pirate, then even wider as he said he was very old. Without her powers, without even her sense of faeyness she hadn't even thought he was more then some human trapper.

"A start... yes..." She said though the tone of her voice was obviously quizzical. Caught off guard by the realization that he was other she was staring at him. "Your not faey... you wouldn't be taking my blood.." Drina said thinking aloud. She wasn't the brightest of bulbs by far.... But when he said blood a tiny light bulb went off.

"But... I thought vampyres drank directly from the source?" Drina let slip from her mouth without thinking first. "Is there something wrong with you?" She continued with the non thinking faucet mouth.

She certainly was a curious creature, unable to keep her thoughts from escaping her mouth. There was a pure innocence to this trait that made Dominic wonder why he wasn't getting the usual feelings towards her as he did most women. What was it about her that kept his beast at bay?

He thought about this half listening to her after a moment. Most women drew the evil out of him, caused him to turn into someone else entirely, a dark, mean, destructive man. But this girl only made him smile, she didn't cause his adreneline to begin pumping, she didn't cause horrific images in his mind. It was more like she was a source of tranquility to his tormented soul.

" I'm not drinking your blood, I hunt for my food nightly." He stated with a laugh, not releasing further information about what he did with it willingly. He took another peice of pizza and sat quietly eating, staring at her as if he were studying her.

Drina was likewise staring at him as he stared at her. The confusion was evident on her face as he stated he wasnt drinking from her but seeking his prey elsewhere. Part of her young, naive, and lonely mind immediatly went to the 'what the hell is wrong with me?' train of thought. "Oh...." She said but it was clear she didn't understand. Suprisingly she didn't ask further about what was being done with her blood. She was too busy contemplating other questions now.

After staring for a few more moments she turned back to her pizza and soda. "I didn't think night walkers ate real food." Drina stated/asked before taking a few more gulps of her soda. "You are more puzzling..." She whispered. He still hadn't supplied a name but at least he had offered up something.

She turned to look at him again. Wanting to ask more but finally getting enough wits about her to be afraid to push her luck. "Pirate huh.... you do sorta look like that Jack Sparrow guy from that movie." Drina said tilting her head to the side as she stared at him. She took a bite of her pizza, the cheese stretching as she tried to pull the slice away. Finally she had to use her finger to break the cheese off then titled her head back to slurp up the string of cheese. Giggling as she licked her chin clear f any stray sauce.

"So where's your ship?" She teasingly asked with a giggle. "I've never been on a boat. Well like a canoe or paddle boat thing but not like a real boat or ship or whatever." Drina began rattling. "But I"m young and I have my whole life...." Drina suddenly cut off realizing what she was saying. And remembering where she was and that she hated this guy. ANd here she was falling into the nice trap again.

"Nevermind." She mumbled shoving pizza back into her mouth zand finally tearing her gaze from him again she looked at the wall as she chewed.
