Joss had slid a note under Conall's door. Her cat had been busting to get out. It was the fool moon. She needed to hunt. She had scoured the city and found only one area that was wooded enough to possibly hold some game for her to hunt. It wreaked of wolves but nothing was fresh. She figured, and hoped, that the wolves had moved on. The note to Conall had also included directions to where she was going. Though hastily scribbled once she realized he wasn't home. She should have set this up with him. But she had been so busy with work and Marcus she hadn't realized the impending full moon.

Joss practically raced to the area from where the bus had dropped her off about a mile away from it. Her cat felt like it was clawing it's way out of her.

She tripped over some stones as she fell into a clearing of the woods she had just scrambled through. SHe tore at her clothing. Too desperate to worry about having to put them back on later, she practically shredded the T'shirt and shorts until she was on all fours huddled over as the cat tried to claw it's way out of her.

Why had this been easier when there was fresh blood, like the night at the club, now she sat there fighting the cat. Unknowingly unable to stop the internal struggle as she sweated and grunted in pain as the cat tried to take over and come out.

Conall climbed in through his appartment window and gave stretch. Not a particularly eventful hunt, the vampire was interesting but not really a challenge. He was still full of energy. He wouldn't sleep for awhile time now. He walked across the room and shedded his coat, letting it slip to the floor before he spotted the note. Unfolding the paper he read it, eyes widening as he did so. Before the paper had hit the ground, Conall had grabbed his jacket and shot back out the window. He knew where she had gone. The Lupanar. He knew there was one in the city. It was a werewolf thing, he just knew. Maybe he sensed its spiritual energy or something. Joss had said she found a wooded area and told him its rough location. That was enough.
He sped over the rooftops, heading North West. He just hoped either there were no werewolves there anymore or he'd get there before they found her.
He reached the area and started sniffing around. She was here. He could find her scent anyway. He soon found her shredded clothing and soon, her naked form beyond it.
"Joss!" he said, voice brimming with concern. "Thank Camalus I found you!"

Joss heard someone coming from behind her. She cralwed, her body moving strangly caught in the struggle to change, turning around to face Conall. Her eyes were flickering between her hazel and the cat green. Her body was covered in a sheen of sweat. She stared up at him. She could sense, smell, concern in him.

"What?" She growled her voice raspy in the change. "Need change... feed... hunt..." She grunted glancing up at the moon behind a cloud. Her body shuddered as she did so. Her back arching painfully and fingers digging into the earth. "Haveto." She grunted. Her voice going into a slight high pitch wail as her fingers started curling under and forming together into a paw. She whimpered.

He then saw how much she needed this. He needed to get her to change more often so she could get used to it. That would both ease the pain of the change and speed up the process.
"Change then," he said, softly but firmly. "But as fast as you can. We are not safe here." Conall quickly removed his clothes and changed to his werewolf form, pacing the area around her and sniffing the air, waiting for any sign of other werewolves. There were some trails nearby but he couldn't smell anything new. They might just get away with this.

"Trying." She wailed. Body starting to shake as Conall moved away to change into his own beast. "Old... scent is old..." Joss said before crying out her head flailing back as fur started sprouting from her body. Hands dug up the earth as Joss, finally exhausted enough with her subconscious struggle, gave into the cat.

It wasn't long after that that her cat finally emerged. It took a moment for it to shake itself out. A bit tired itself. But immeditaly it's ears perked up nostrils flaring as it listened and scented out prey in the woods.

Slowly Joss's cat stalked towards the perimeter of trees. It glanced over its shoulder at the werewolf it had already acknowledged as it's alpha. Then it caught the scent of something it could take down. The cat suddenly turned going onto its belly. But it remembered how it used to hunt with it's old pard. Remembered it was to follow in the hunt not lead. The cat mewled looking to Conall. Waiting to follow his lead

What could he do now? She needed to hunt or she might loose it totally and they couldn't really leave this area. The all the scents he found were old. Perhaps the Lupanar was, as he had hoped, deserted. And he longed to hunt with a Pack again. To work as a team, as a family. Maybe there was no harm in it.
"Show me what you can do, Becc," he said, signalling her to take the lead. Maybe it would give her some self confidence if she did so, or at least if she learned how to lead a hunt. "Dont get too far ahead. I'm not convinced this place is empty and if it isnt then its inhabitants wont be pleased to see me."

The signal to take the lead the cat understood. The rest of the words were a mystery to her. She understood he was still concerned and worrie.d There was a sense of trespassing. Yes wolves had hunted here. But wasn't she free to hunt where she pleased. The cat waited for the guttural words of it's alpha to stop. Then it seemed to nod before it bounded off into the woods. It barely made any noise. That was something both it and Joss were good at. Being unseen, unheard.

The cat had caught the scent of ground hog. Yeah they tended to bit back but the cat was sure it could take it down first. Fresh meat.

The cat moved gracefully around trees and stumps and limbs tracking the scent when suddenly another scent briefly passed it's nose. Then it was gone as if it had moved down wind of her. It kinda smelled like Conall. She stopped in the midst of the woods.

The cat turned back to pick up the ground hog scent. Figuring it just must have been where Conall had come in. She picked up the scent of the ground hog and was bounding again.

Soon enough the cat stopped. Spotting the ground hog the big cat lowered itself to a pouncing position ready to launch

Conall was glad Joss had agreed to take the lead but it was a feeling that soon passed once they were on the move. He was on full alert constantly, ready to react to any scent, any sound, any sign of other werewolves.
He followed Joss as she slunk through the woods, his footfalls almost as silent as hers, despite his great size. He found it hard not to get drawn into the hunt again. He felt his blood and muscles yearning to communicate with Joss, telling her he'd wait ahead and for her to drive her quarry into his trap or any one of a dozen pack tactics he yearned to use again. But he had to focus, to concentrate. A fresher werewolf scent was nearby. Not current, but definately fresher. It was going to be time to get out of here very soon.
The next bit happened in slow motion. He heard the movement of bushes, saw Joss crouch to pounce, saw the werewolf burst from the bushes, leaping at her with its claws and teeth ready to bring her down. But he was aleady reacting. He smashed into the leaping werewolf before it could land, throwing it backwards into a tree then gripping it hard by the throat. Foolishy it tried to break his grip instead of attacking him. He smellt the others coming. If he had been starting to loose himself in the hunt before, he was fully focused again now.
"Run Joss!" he yelled over his shoulder as a second werewolf barrelled into him and took him to the ground, the first falling to its knees and clutching its half-crushed throat.

Joss was oblivious to the werewolf coming at her. She was ready to pounce when she heard the crash beside her. She skittered away from the melee. Then the second wolf came and tackled Connor. The subordinate instinct came to protect the alpha. The cat started to go and pull the second wolf off of Conall. Then her alpha told her to run and she stopped. Unsure what to do. She was used to submitting, obeying. But Conall was outnumbered.

She backed up slowly. Still unsure. She couldn't just leave him. She couldn't disobey either. She growled her frustration. Paws digging into the earth she backed up a few more steps. Then turned and ran. Cutting through the woods. Circling around the fight. She would run but she wasn't running away. She was making sure there were no more wolves to attack Conall

Conall and the werewolf rolled around, scratching and snapping thier jaws, trying to get a good hold. Finally Conall managed to sink his teeth into his opponants shoulder and bite hard. The enemy yelped in pain and diverted its attention to trying to break free. He had to tasct fast. The first werewolf he'd attacked was getting back to its feet again. With a mighty shove he threw the bleeding werewolf off before flipping to his feet and lunging. His claws raked the werewolf's face and sent him stumbling back. Conall didnt give him a second chance. He charged forward and grabbed his enemy's jaws, holding them closed while he rammed his head back into a tree trunk as hard as he could. There was a sickening crunch and the werewolf slumped to the ground, eyes glazed over. He heard a howl from behind him. The other werewolf was calling for help. Conall leapt at him, drew back a mighty fist and pounded it once into his enemy's throat, cutting the howl short. The werewolf fell choking to the ground. Conall knelt on its chest, reached down and broke its neck with a sharp twist.
Standing up he assessed the damage. He only had minor wounds that were little more than scratches, more werewolves were coming, no telling how many, he had no weapon and where the hell was Joss? He ran off, following her scent.

Joss Was moving through the woods. The cat's head swishing back and forth trying to scent if there were any other wolves. She could hear the grunts of the fight from Conall's direction. She heard a howl cut short. Then there was nothing. She stopped. About to head back worried. When suddenly something caught around her torso. She had been disrtacted by the sudden lack of fighting noise she didn't smell the wolf approaching from downwind until it had tackled her to the ground and was snapping it's teeth at her neck as she swatted at it with her paws. Keeping it away enough that it couldn't chomp into her neck. But it was stronger then her.

She roared. Trying to sound like the predatory cat she was. Struggling to keep the wolf off her throat.

Conall ploughed through the foliage, hot on the trail of Joss' scent. Then he heard her roar. It sounded afraid. He snarled and increased his pace. Bursting into the clearing where Joss was pinned he wasted no time. Grabbing the surprised wolf by its haunches he swung it sideways into a tree with enough might to cracked its ribs and spine at the least. Then he cast its limp body aside and rushed to Joss.
"Are you hurt?" he said, voice full of concern.

Joss rolled back onto her stomach the second the snapping wolf was removed from ontop of her. She kept herself low to the ground. Head between her paws as she watched the wolf drop to the ground. The cat came back full force, it's eyes on the fallen wolf. Joss receeded, never enjoying the beasts need to feed on raw, bloody food, she often retreated quickly after the initial hunt.

The cat looked up at Conall as the wolfman spoke to it. There were a few claw marks on it's side where the wolf had held her down, but it was nothing serious, nothing like a knife plunged into your shoulder, so Joss didn't even acknowledge it much less the cat.

The cat just looked up at it's alpha waiting for permission to feed on his kill. The cat didn't see anything wrong with it. And Joss was gone enough not to care.

Conall looked into Joss's eyes. Damn, she was too far gone to understand the situation. All she wanted to do was complete the hunt by feeding. They had to get of here before it was....too late. Four wolves entered the clearing, snarling, hackles raised. Conall instinctively put himself between them and Joss.
"I need you to understand me Becc." he said over his shoulder. "You have to get out of here. Go back to the apartment. Now!"
He leapt into the wolves.

It was the Becc that brought her back. And the fact that he hadn't given permission to feed. If they weren't feeding Joss could come back and the cat would loose interest. Joss's hazel eyes came back to the cats face. Looking at the Wolves just past COnall approaching. Her eyes narrowed, her rump wiggling slightly as her claws dug into the ground. Ready to pounce and protect her alpha. Then again he told her to leave and go back to the apartment. She roared her disagreement. He was outnumbered.

How could he ask her to run? She understood he wanted to protect her. But that wasa what a pack was suppose to be for. Taking care of one another. I mean thats what she dreamed a pack was for.

Reluctantly the cat took a step backwards and it was as if the wolves took that as a cue. Three of them leaping at Conall while one started bounding after Joss which got her turning and quickly running. She was only slightly faster then the wolf. Her sleek long, and small body, more suited to long running. It wasn't long before she was back where she had left her shredded clothing and she continued on through the woods. Checking back that the wolf still followed her. At least she had taken one of them off Conall's hands. God dammit!

Good, she had left. Not so good was the fact that a wolf had folowed her. But she had outpaced Conall before so she should be able to handle it. In the future maybe they would fight side by side but she wasnt ready yet. Now he could pay attention to the fight.
He and the three wolves rolled over and over on the ground, thrashing and biting. One of them went for his neck but he managed to get a forearm in the way as his other fist smashed into a second wolf's jaw, knocking it onto its back. He rolled, one wolf still clamped to his forearm while the third circled him snapping. He rolled onto his front, batting the third wolf away with a backhand blow to its nose as he got to his knees. The first wolf let go of his forearm and they regrouped, circling and looking for a weak point.
Conall felt his rage growing. These three were keeping him from protecting Joss. He snarled and leapt into them again.

It seemed like it took forever to travel that mile out of the woods and back to the city proper. She broke free of the woods and kept going. Not worrying about what people would think of a leopard running through the streets of the city. Of course the humans would just chalk it up to something to do with the eternal night.

She was a few blocks before she realized the wolf was no longer behind her. She slowed and stopped ducking into an alley. She steathily looked around to make sure she wasn't being followed. A car drove past but no wolf.

Sticking to the shadows Joss made her way back towards her apartment building. Halfway there her cat started fighting her. It had never gotten its meal. It wanted to go back to the woods and feed on the scraps it knew Conall had left behind. Because of course their alpha would win.

She reminded the cat of the rawsteak they had at home showing it pictures in her mind and reminding it they already had there hunt what difference did it make where the spoils came from.

The cat conceded though it still wanted fresh meat.

They got to her building by way of alley. They certainly couldn't go through the front door. And it's keys were in her pockets left back at the woods, though she didn't know they were gone now as well, her scent and keys in the hands of a stranger.

She'd have to wait for Conall to return. Maybe his window was open.

The cat assessed the alley way and found a way to jump from Dumpster to fire escape and carefully climbed her way up towards Conalls window. It was open but she didn't want to invade his privacy. So she just waited there. KNowing he would return soon.

Conall smashed a wolf down with a powerful blow as it leapt at him. It's body thudded into the ground, air knocked from its lungs. Conall had already landed on the next wolf, savagely tearing at it with its claws whilest ignoring the third wolf the was biting his leg. He turned on it once the one he was attacking was down, blood pooling around it. Conall was in no mood for careful tactics. He grabbed the wolf, raised it above his head and slammed it as hard as he could int othe ground. It didnt move again. The winded wolf picked itself up and fled as fast as its beaten body would allow. Conall had to get out of here.
He didnt think to grab his and Joss's clothes, such was his haste.
He rached his door and burst in, slamming it quickly behind him. He handt been able to find Joss but her scent lead away from the forest. He grabbed his sword and was about to head back out to look for her when he caught sight of glowing green eyes at his open window. He placed the sword back down and motioned for her to come in. He was bleeding from deep bite marks on his right forearm and left shoulder, near his neck as well as numerous scratches all over his chest, stomach and back. His fur was matted with blood, some his, most not. But his only concern was Joss.
"Are you hurt?" he asked. "I scented a wolf on your trail."
