Paige sat curled up in her overstuffed chair looking out the bay window at the front of her townhouse, flipping Dominic's card over and over between her fingers. She had showered and set the dress to soak, she would take it to the dry cleaners in the morning, and was now sitting in her chair in a tank top and terry cloth shorts contemplating Dominic. "If I call now he'll still probably be at the gala and could just leave a message." She tried to convince herself. She already convinced herself that somehow SHE had been rude, and owed him a drink. She just wanted to call and tell him such and that was all. Right. Just leave a message. Then the ball is in his court. She picked up the portable phone and dialed. |

Dominic hadn't stayed very long after Paige had left in a huff. He had consumed two double whiskeys, and then decided to call it a night, returning to his secluded and secret living quarters. Once home Dominic filled a glass with whiskey from one of the many decanters that sat around his home. He paced the living room eventually flipping on the stereo to a local rock station, and taking a healthy drink from his glass before throwing himself into a large black leather chair in the corner. He strummed his fingers on the soft, yet cool material of the chair, bored and feeling wired and decided to go out to his favorite pub and have a drink, but first he had to change, he couldn't get the vanillaish scent of the woman he had chatted with at the Galla off of him. So he retreated to his room and changed into a comfortable relaxed fit pair of cargo jeans, and a plain black t-shirt that was just tight enough to define his muscled chest well without making him look feminine. The look was finished with his trusty combat boots, and his wallet placed securely in his back pocket the chain attached to it, running down the side of his pants. Dominic grabbed his keys and started for the door when he heard the phone ring. He almost didn't pick it up, but decided why not, and reached for the black portable in it's stand on a table in the shoe room. " Hello.." He answered into the reciever, hearing silence for a moment. |

Paige was speechless as he picked up. It took her a minute to adjust from the careful message she was planning to leave on his machine to actually speaking to him. "Umm... Hi... Dominic... this ... this is uh... Paige. From earlier this evening. I uh... I wanted to apologize to you for causing a scene at the gala..." She stammered. It wasn't the careful message she had planned to leave. Not even close. "I should have at least offered to buy you a drink." Paige said. |

He listened to Paige stammer into the phone and did he hear her correctly, apologize. He couldn't believe that she had broke so easily, honestly he hadn't expected a phone call, but he was pleased that his game play had worked after all. Dominic grinned into the phone as he spoke, " Paige, um I'm afraid I don't remember meeting anyone named Paige." He said joking as he acted like he couldn't remember her. " No for real though I must say I'm quite suprised to hear from you. I figured you had gone off in a huff, fumed for a bit, and jumped in a cold shower to cool off by now." He chided her, he was finding that he highly enjoyed pushing her buttons. " If your offering a drink though, I'm on my way down to the pub, why don't you change that bloody rag you were wereing earlier, and throw on something cute, I'll scoop you up and let you buy me that drink, who knows maybe I'll even get a few drinks for you if you behave yourself." He laughed silently picturing her on the other side of phone her chest puffing out, posture straightening, the idea in his mind reminded him of a rooster rearing up to strike. He wondered if she would strike, and waited to see what would happen, and took a drink from his glass of whiskey. |

Paige's teeth started clenching and grinding at his opening line. She nearly clicked the end button and hung up on him right then. She was double guessing herself. Wondering if she had been completely wrong in treating him the way she had. Luckily he slipped in the line that let her know he was joking. His sense of humor was certainly an odd one. Then he went into another snide remark. Her eyes narrowed, even though he couldn't see her through the phone. She wondered how he knew her shower had been cold. Obviously he was that full of himself. She sat up straighter in her cushy chair as he went on to say he was heading out now and she could fullfill her offering tonight. She snorted out loud as he said he would buy her drinks if she was a good girl. What had she been thinking apologizing? But she had done it and now she felt obligated. "Why don't I just meet you at this pub. And I will buy you the drink I owe you. Just tell me where to meet you." She said not wanting to have to owe him more then she already had pushed herself into believing she did. |

He smiled happy with himself and with her as she excepted his invitation. Why did she get his blood flowing so, he wasn't usually so bulylish with women, but she seemed to bring it out in him, it was a nice rush from his usual everyday existance of smuggling goods, and collecting and selling information, which had become kinda boring over the centuries he had done it off and on. " All right then luv, do you know where the Garlic and Chalk is on the north side? Well that's were I'm headed, do you think you can get ready and be there in 40 min?" He asked wondering how she would react to a time limit, not really caring how long she took, he would have his drinks and fun till she showed up anyways. Dominic swished the little bit of brown whiskey that was settled around the icecubes in his tumbler, wondering what she was doing on her end, was she sitting there or was she pacing, perhaps preparing a snack, or a drink, maybe she was going through her record collection trying to figure out what to play to suit her mood, which he wondered for a moment what it would consist of. He suddenly realized where his train of thought had gone and roped himself back in, why should he be interested in such personal things, she was afterall just another wench, right? He leaned back crossing his feet at the ankles and setting them on the large oak table in front of him, leaning back in the leather chair, and pulled out a cigar, removing the end with a bite, and then lighing it with and enormouse puff of smoke. |

"Yeah I think I can find it." She commented quickly. The internet was a lovely thing. She could google it and not seem like a fool. She looked down at her pajamas. Unlike the ordeal she went through to get herself ready for the gala, and meeting the clanleiter, she was not normally such a high maintenance girl. "For a pub I can be ready in 10 and there as soon as I can afterwards." She said. She ran a finger through her still damp hair. She liked letting it air dry, she felt made it softer. "I'm not high maintenance girl, only for special occasions." She said seriously. She wanted to get across her serious side. "I'll see you then." She said before clicking off without waiting for his goodbye. Dominic was certainly an enigma to her. He certainly thought himself a ladies man. And yet there was the bully side of him that set her hackles up. Well she wasn't going to do anything special for him. She was going to just be herself. She rose out of her cushy plush chair and made her way back towards her bedroom, hanging the phone back on the cradle as she passed it. She googled the pubs name for it's address on her laptop while she pulled out some clothes. Dressing in a soft blue peasangt skirt, a matching tank top, sans bra, and a clunky pair of sandals she was ready in 5 minutes and writing down the directions to the pub. WIthin 15 minutes she was heading out the door. |

Without giving him a chance to say goodbye she had hung up leaving Dominic sitting there holding a buzzing telephone reciever. He tried to think back to the last time someone had hung up on him but really couldn't bring any memories to mind. He chucked back the last of his whiskey, slamming the glass on the wooden table in front of him as he sat forward ready to get up. She fucking hung up on me he thought again, shaking his head, and standing, then grabbing his set of keys off the counter, and headed to the pub. Once outside Dominic looked up into the night full of stars, and decided rather than drive he would walk, it was a lovely evening, and he wanted to make the best of it. Besides the pub wasn't that far away, just a few miles from Dominic's secluded home that was actually nestled beneath the city's neautral ground and away from prying eyes, so he didn't have far to walk at all considering he was with in about the same distance of all the territories. He walked at a moderate pace north towards the Garlic and Chalk more than ready for a glass of there homeaid ale that they brewed in the back. |
