Ricki stepped through the door of his new apartment. The heating was crap, the windows were small and dirty, there were stains on the walls...but this was his home, and he liked the feeling he got whenever he entered the place. It made him feel...settled. And he loved having a place he could call his own and pay the rent for with as much ease as possible. The room was smallish, adding to it's low points. It was the very last room, and was the shabbiest, most humble place Ricki had ever set foot in. Having grown up in his father's large mansion-like home was far from this place, but Ricki didn't mind all too much. He wanted things to be different from his father's house anyway. "Needs...repainting...and lots of scrubbing..." He confirmed as he closed the door. He clutched a suitcase in one hand and his room keys in the other, a plastic bag hanging from that arm. Once he'd set his things down, he stretched and slowly walked down the small hallway that lead to his room. It was dark, and had little space, but it was fine for sleeping, and that was all Ricki intended to use it for. He glared at a large, gaping hole in the wall by his bedroom door, shaking his head in disgust. "Stupid hole...what idiot did this anyway...?" He questioned. There wasn't much to say about the place, and he'd been living there for only five days. He'd been earning money to pay rent by doing some one-night offer jobs, but he wasn't nearly equiped with enough money to pay rent for more than three months. Even if he kept up the working, eventually the debt would get to him. Flopping onto the poorly-made bed, he sighed and stared the ceiling, worrying his lipring thoughtfully. There had to be some way to get a decent job somewhere...without college...it would be harder than normal, but he decided he was prepared for that. Life sucks...nah, I just suck at life... He thought, closing his eyes. It was going to be another long, sleepless night as far as he was concerned. And what better way to spend such a night holding in his blood-thirsty hunger? Of course there wasn't a better way. It was all that was left. |
