Player Contact Name: Chris Usborne Age: 19 Online Contact: xaphias@btinternet.com (MSN or email) The Character Name: Miguel de Morillo Nickname: The Freak Age: 554 (born in 1453) Gender: Male Race: Vampire Clan: Zauberer Homeland/Birthplace: Spain Occupation: None Physical Description: Miguel appears very thin and emaciated, his black priest robes hanging off his frame. His skin is very pale and covered in various welts and oozing wounds that heal even as new ones a forming due to the leprosy his healing abilities are constantly battling. He has deep red-purple bags under his yellowing, bloodshot eyes and his cheeks are sallow. The lower part of his face is covered constantly by a surgeon like mask behind which his lips have rotted away. He only ever pulls this mask back to feed. Miguel’s hair all fell out long ago and he has tattooed his scalp with arcane symbols used by the Zauberer. These symbols sometimes faintly glow, especially when Miguel becomes enraged or aroused. Miguel’s voice changes from a low muttering to a high shriek depending on his emotion. Personality: Miguel’s mind is completely fractured due to tortures performed upon him by those he once commanded and perhaps also as a strange side affect of the mixture of vampirism and leprosy. Miguel is obsessed with his ‘great plan’ although even he has perhaps forgotten exactly what his goals are over the centuries. It seems to involve the torture and dissection of his victims, numbering the thousands at this stage in time and only he seems to understand what purpose these sick experiments serve. Miguel has little or no interest in socialising with other vampires although he is a keen reader of arcane lore. He will only ever venture out of his lair if he really must. Miguel suffers from a list of mental disorders including: somatic delusions (he will sometimes twitch or slap at his skin as he perceives insects crawling on him), depersonalisation disorder (he will sometimes feel detached from his body as though observing his behaviour from outside himself), necrophilia, schizotypal personality disorder (feeling inappropriate emotions, suspicion) and occasionally the need to consume raw flesh (instead of just drinking blood). Strengths/Weaknesses: Miguel has lost his mind and is completely obsessed with his ‘great plan’, not caring for anything else which may be seen as a weakness. Also he suffers from leprosy. However, despite his thin frame Miguel is surprisingly strong and has a firm grasp of Zauberer magic through his continuing study of their tomes. Likes/ Dislikes: Miguel is governed by the need to complete his plan and the mental disorders described above (if not more). Abilities: Miguel has reasonable control over water, able to manipulate its movements quite well. He could, for example, hold his own in a raging torrent of water simply by directing it around him. He cannot change water into steam or ice however. His true talents lie with blood and flesh. Miguel can manipulate blood as easily as he can water and can draw it from skin to skin contact with mortals (though not vampires or other supernatural beings). His greatest achievement is his power to create small golems called fleshlings. He sends his fleshlings to gather what he needs from the outside world but they are simply for fetching and carrying. They cannot perform complex actions like combat or picking locks and a fleshing only lasts about a week. They are, however, strong enough to lift and carry a human, despite the fact that they are only two feet tall and they are smart enough to take people inconspicuously. Fleshlings appear as hunchbacked, long armed, three-fingered pink creatures, vaguely humanoid in shape but with no facial features and are made simply from flesh and blood. Miguel’s control over flesh and blood also allows him to cut people using his magic, inflicting wounds deep enough to reach the bone (although he is unable to cut through bones) or several inches deep at most, whichever comes first. This technique is especially effective at opening old wounds or keeping them open and if used to do so increases the range of a few inches to the depth of the original wound. He often uses this gift to aid him in his experiments and tortures. He is also able to close wounds but he rarely uses the power in this way. History: Miguel de Morillo was one of the first Inquisitioners of the Spanish Inquisition. He had been brought up as a strict Catholic and the idea of witches, demons and non-Christians repulsed him. He soon found he had a talent in torture and began to take lessons on the ways of the human body from physicians. Through practice, hard work and perseverance, Miguel became a very skilled torturer and his work resulted in more confessions than any other member of the Inquisition. It was at this time he contracted leprosy. His condition thought to be a curse from God (a rumour encouraged by other members of the Inquisition who had begun to fear him) Miguel was himself brutally tortured at the hands of his former brethren. Unable to stand the shame of being cast as one of those he despised his already evil mind began to fracture. The regular torture helped this process. He was then kept in a prison to await execution. This prison was used as a source of food for a local vampire who didn’t know about Miguel’s leprosy and saw only a poor, tortured man ready to be killed. This vampire was Miguel’s sire. But Miguel was not grateful. Seeing he had become a creature of darkness and that his innocence in crimes against God had turned to guilt drove his mind further into chaos. Once his creator had taught him how to survive as a vampire, Miguel strung him up and tortured him mercilessly over many decades before finally crucifying him and leaving him for dawn’s rays to finish. He then explored the mansion of his former master and there he found the library. His sire had obtained many books of vampire lore and Zauberer magic and Miguel poured over them, seeking a cure for this new disease. He locked himself away for decades coming out only to find a new victim to feed on, every day loosing more of his mind as the leprosy battled with vampirism and he failed to accept what he was. He began to torture people again, as he had in his glory days and perhaps somewhere in his twisted psyche he felt he still needed to do the Inquisitions work. Once Miguel exhausted his library he moved on, searching the globe for more tomes and arcane knowledge although by this point he had forgotten his wish to be cured completely. Other vampires he encountered stayed well clear of him, recognising him as insane. It was during this period of his life that Miguel began working for Adolf Hitler, performing sick and twisted experiments on victims from Hitler’s concentration camps. It was at this point that his ‘great plan’ formed and he became obsessed with it. Once the war ended and Miguel moved on he took the need to experiment along with the need to torture and began his journeys again, coming to rest in Detroit where he was once again ignored and avoided by other vampires, making his home in the crypt of La Grande Cattedrale in a sealed off area. He only leaves this place if he really must; his fleshlings can fetch most of what he needs, including new victims. Other Information: (Is there anything that I forgot above or something else that you want to include?) |
