Joss wanted to make a good impression on her first day of work. More then anything she wanted to please Marcus. And showing up early well hopefully that would please him.

She ran her hand over her hair. Still not believing what had been done to it. But if Marcus liked it.. she would like it. The braids felt a little tight but she was sure it was just a matter of getting used to them.

She looked down at her attire of the black cargo shorts, combat boots, white and green baby T. It certainly wasn't the style that Marcus had picked out for her but she thought it was what she would most fit in in at work.

She locked her apt door behind her and headed down the stairs to the lobby.

Something stopped her when she was in the main lobby. SO focused and thinking about Marcus it took her a second to realize what it was that stopped her. A new scent. Canid... Wolf. Fairly recent too.

Well it was time to venture out into the city, Conall decided. After all, he needed to find work if he was going to keep this place and crummyas it was, it was better than the streets. He caught a glimpse of himself in the dirty mirror as he splashed his face with water from the sink. There was the same old snarl his face had set into over the years.
He grabbed his sleeveless black combat jacket n threw it on over his white vest. He wore dark jeans and big black combat boots. He was never one for fancy clothes.
As soon as he stepped into the corridor he caught the scent. The cat. He turned slowly and saw her there. Tension built. If she attacked he would counter. He almost prayed she would. It had been awhile since hed had a gud fight. But she didnt look the type. He met her gaze with no malice or any feeling at all.

Suddenly the scent was stronger as someone entered the hall. Joss couldn't help but glance at who was emerging. As a predatory cat she should feel superior to a lone wolf but Joss was in effect the runt and alone herself.

The hair on the back of her neck stood up as she took in the gruff looking man standing there. She knew it was rude to stare but she couldn't help herself. His stare was blank. But she could feel the tension in the air. She lowered her eyes first in a show of submission to him. She knew werewolves played dominance games much the way cats did. And she had no qualms about showing her submission to almost anyone especially one as scary looking at this guy.

She went to turn and head for work but she stopped again good manners getting to her. "Welcome to the building." She called out to him.

She lowered her eyes, he thought. A display of submission. Strange...most cats would think they had the advantage. He was, after all, a lone wolf and she didnt know just how old and how powerful he was. So why be submissive? Maybe she just doesnt want any trouble. He watched her, his gaze not moving or giving an inch. She turned to leave. Showing her back to him and asuming he wouldn't attack. Well he wasnt giving off aggressive signals after all. And she was right, he wasnt going to attack. Then the strangest thing happened. She called out to him, welcoming him to the building. There was no tone of threat nor malice. Not a hint of sarcasm or warning that this was her territory. It sounded....genuine. If she was still facing him he would have simply nodded his acknowledgement but she had turned away. He caught himself opening his mouth to say something. Why should he make such an effort not to appear rude? Because she had done the same.
"Thanks." he managed gruffly and awkwardly.

Joss turned over her shoulder to glance at him one more time as she got to the door that lead outside. She gave him a shrug and a nod before she headed out into the night sky to head to her bus and to work.

She knew that anyone else, human, would have wondered how they knew they were knew to the building but she was pretty sure he had scented her as cat and he wolf and so knew what was what.

Joss made it to the boss stop in time to catch the bus that would take her closer to the warehouse. And hopefully get her there earlier then she was suppose to be as well.
