Erik shuffled off the bus with the rest of the passengers, his belongings in a bag slung across his shoulder. He stepped off into the icy cold of a Detroit night. Shivering, he pulled his jacket tighter around him and decided it would be a good idea to find a room for the night.

After looking through the phonebook, Erik found a cheap hotel. As he was writing down the address, Erik paused. The peculiar pulling sensation, the one that had driven him from his home down south, that had driven him to leave what was essentially a life of leisure with nothing but the clothes on his back, a bag full of clothes and money, and his silver ring, had finally stopped.

Astounded, Erik looked around the dark, gloomy surroundings. This was the place he had been searching for? This? Frustrated with the unfairness of it all, Erik thrust the address into his pocket looked around for a map.

Leon had been wandering around the city for a few hours just to get the layout of the roads in his mind, he was intrigued by such a large city, and these buildings now made of concrete and stone, and the cars these days, so fast and odd looking.

He smiled and took it all in, learning about this era as he walked.

Seeing a bus pull up at a stop, he stopped and watched it, and the people gettting off, he still didnt liek how impersonal people were now, standing shoulder to shoulder and still ignoring each other, when suddenly he felt a pang of something, he wasnt sure what it was, or why, but he knew someone on the bus was special somehow, not supernatural hed have sensed that.

So he watched everyone getting off, nothing special, untill he saw a boy shuffle between them, shivering with a bag on his back, it looked like that bag might contain his whole life, and he clearly was new here from the way he looked around. This was the one.

And so leon followed him to the phone booth, watching him read phone numbers of hotels, by some quirk of fate the hotel he picked was the very one in which Leon was currently staying, maybe thats why he was special, but that doesnt make sense.

Seeing the boy looking for a map he smiled and walked over to the booth and spoke to him

"Excuse me, i couldn't help but notice you seem a little lost, here where do you need to go"

Leon smiled and pulled a map out of his inside coat pocket

Erik started at the sudden voice. He turned to see a man standing behind him. Something wasn't right with him, but Erik couldn't figure out what. Something about the man's eyes, something made them look older than the rest of his face. At that thought, something whispered in the back of his mind, but Erik couldn't make it out. He brushed it aside and decided to respond to this oddly helpful man.

"Oh, I'm just looking for a good hotel. I was planning on going here." He pulled the address out of his pocket and held it out so that the other man could see it. "Have you heard of it?"

The Vicont looked at the address and smiled

"Oh my, thats the hotel im staying at, yes its just down here and across a few streets, its not to bad, but it is somewhat costly, are you sure you can afford it?"

The vicont looked at the boy and sighed softly

"It seems you havnt much in the way of possessions, and i would thus assume money, though of course looks can be deceptive, but i could offer to show you around, see if theres a cheaper one thats not to run down."

He looked at the boy for a moment then up and down the street for any signs of other hotels, liek large crowds, lots of taxi's parked up or people with luggage but saw ntohing yet

Erik gave the man an odd, searching look. The hair on the back of his neck was starting to rise. "No, I'm fine for money. My family owns a rather successful company, so I really don't need to worry about that." He looked up at the black sky. "What I do need to worry about though, is this cold. I don't want to catch something on my first day in the city."

He looked down the street, then back at the man. "Where did you say that hotel was?"

Leon listened to the boy speak and smiled as he mentioned the cold and slipped off his long black wool coat and held it out

"Here you can borrow this till we get there, im not that cold, and its just down here"

He motioned past the boy with hand and smiled

"Its only a few streets over, and then round a corner and your there, here lets go"

He smiled and motioned for the boy to walk beside him as he started walkin the direction he had motioned

Erik held out a hand to forstall the coat. "No, but thanks. I just need to get inside, and if it's that close, I think I'll be fine." He followed the strange man as he walked off. He gave a mental sigh as he walked. Erik figured he was going to have to find out the man's name, so if the night ended with a bleeding ass, he would need something to tell the police.
