Joss hoisted the last bag out of the trunk of her car. The guy she had been selling her car too was obviously anxious as he had showed up early before she could even get all her stuff out of the car. She handed him the keys as she closed the trunk. "Sorry I didn't get a chance to wash it. Your an hour early. I would have at least vaccumed it." She told the guy as he took the keys. He already had the title and bill of sale. The keys were the only thing left. And it was time to say buh bye to her salvation. The one thing that had saved her these past few weeks. Giving her a means of escape.

The man seemed anxious to get the car and get out. JOss could just sense it. Ohh well. He had met her asking price and even payed for it with a money order so she wouldn't have to wait for a check to clear. She had money in her pocket. Enough money for a couple months rent and food. But still she had to find a job.

She started walking from the parking garage out onto the street and into the front doors to thye lobby of her new building. Her duffell big actually towered over her small frame as she carried it on her back. She hit the button for the elevator as she waited. Humming softly to herself. Next order of business was cashing the money order, finding a kinkos and printing off her resume and hitting the pavement for a job. Ok maybe unpacking a little was in order first. And a shower, get the two weeks living in your car gunk off herself. And food. Ok shower, money food. In that order. She told herself as her foot began to tap as she waited for the elevator.

She had recieved the call a few minutes earlier, and now she found herself rushing down the stairs of her apartment building towards the exit and to her car. Mary had always hated elevator's, and therefore avoided them whenever possible, which had a good deal to do with her slim, toned figure. She reached the first floor and opened the large heavy door quickly, perhaps to quickly, because she heard and felt a thud. Wondering what she had hit she stepped out and closed the door looking in the direction of the sound.

She really did need to learn to slow down coming out that door, it was stupid to have it located right near the elevators where so many people frequented.

So lost in her humming and watching the number floor the elevator was on and slowly creeping downward she was oblivious to the door beside her.

The next thing she felt was something hard in her duffel bag banging against the back of her head. The force of the blow actually pushed her hard till she was smushed against the wall beside the elevator stuck between the door and the wall until it closed. "Ow." She mutturred softly her hands splayed on the wall keeping her upright even though the weight of her duffel bag was sliding off her shoulder and threatening to send her teettering to the ground.

She grabbed onto the corner of the wall and righted herself. Putting a hand between her bag and the back of her head where, probably, one of her boots had attacked her. She turned to see a woman standing there looking at her. She blinked a couple of times. Then the woman's scent hit her and her eyes dropped. "I'm sorry I was in your way." Joss said softly. "Learned that lesson quickly stand on the far side of the elevator." She mumbled still rubbing at the back of her head.

Her mind was reeling. Not here an hour and she had met her first were leopard. *Think brain think* She mentally screamed. She should introduce herself. She should ask something about a local Nimir-ra/j She should say something. But her mouth must be frozen. Or a couple brain cells were knocked loose. AS nothing came out of her mouth.

She looked at the girl that she had hit with the door, and caught the scent of leopard, she hadn't met any fellow were-leopards since she had moved here, but then she kept to her self mostly. It was odd though considering where she worked, it was a regular smorgasborge of preternatural types. She figured that the were-leopard population was probably rather small or secretive here.

Mary smiled extending her hand towards the woman.

" Sorry, I always forget to watch how I open that door, it's so dumb to have the stairwell door right next to the elevator. She said with a light hearted laugh.

" I'm Mary Jane, I live in 4C." She spurted noticing the large bag.

" Are you moving in or moving out? I'm pretty sure I havn't seen you around here?" She asked coyly. She new she hadn't seen her around before, she would have remembered such an adorable leopard.

Joss nodded and smiled softly as the woman joked about the positioning of the door. She looked at the door behind her. Then back to the were leopard before her. Making sure to keep her eyes downcast though. Obedience had been beaten into her. She was always low girl on the totem pole, therefor you never look your superiors in the eye. Any leopard was Joss's superior. So Joss's gaze remained on her chin. So she could still see facial expression. She just didn't meet her eyes.
She had learned this trick months ago.

"S'ok." Joss said with a shrug which shifted the bag on her back making her boot knock the back of her noggin again. She groaned at her own lack of coordination.

Joss looked down at the extended hand and reached out to shake it rather weakly. "Jocelyn... Joss. I'm uhh... just moving in. 3F. Just got here an hour ago. SO yeah probably haven't seen me." Joss said as the elevator FINALLY!, dinged and the doors shakily slid open. She put her hand in to keep the door open.

"Issnice meeting you Mary Jane. I don't wanna keep you. You're obviously in a hurry." Joss said motioning at the door the woman had flown threw.

Mary Jane was suprised to see the girl throw her eyes toward the ground. She must have had some bad experiences with past pards though MJ.

" It's good to meet you Joss." rolled off her tounge before she realized it.

It was true she was in a hurry, but before she left she grabbed a pen and paper from her back pocket and scribbled on it.

Mary Jane
4C
555-2323

She extended the paper toward's Joss,

" I'll be back in about an hour, you should stop by and have some tea." She said playfully as she turned around and ran out the door.

Joss took the peice of paper that Mary Jane handed her looking down at the scribbled number. She looked up slightly surprised as Mary Jane said she should stop by for tea upon her return. "Oh... alright then." Joss said taking the blassey statement, in her mind, as a demand for a meeting then. "Thank you." She said stepping into the elevator as the woman ran off.

As the elevators doors closed she looked up at the ceiling of the small box, knocking her head on the boot again she winced. Ok she had an hour to shower, change, make herself presentable, and figure out a gift to give to the were leopard as Joss was in her territory it was only fitting.

This elevator moved slow as shit, she thought as it inched upwards. Slowly. The eons it took to reach the third floor and Joss ran to her apartment tossing her last bag amongst the other bags and boxes scattered in the sparse unfurnished studio apartment. SHe hurredly tore through her things seeking out her toiletries and heading to the bathroom.

55 minutes and counting.
