In an abandoned subway station, a group of homeless people had gathered, taking advantage of the now lax police force. A veritable shantytown and sprung up, mostly built of scrap wood and cardboard, and fires burning in barrels lit the village. Some had taken to calling it The Undercity. Near the center of the Undercity, four elderly people stood gathered around a barrel, warming their hands. One, a large black man with his head shaved and covered by a hood, began to speak. "Well? Who called the meeting?" The others looked at each other questioningly. They had thought that he had called the meeting. Eventually, an oriental woman with her matted hair pulled back raised her hand. "It was me, Robert. I got a message from William that he wanted to meet us tonight." "Well then, he could have just as easily come to me." Robert, the black man who had spoken first, said. Someone snorted. All eyes turned to another black man, this one also bald, though by more natural means. A wild beard covered his toothless mouth, which gave him a crazed appearence. "William ask you? You've never seen eye to eye with that boy, much less given any real thought to anything he's said. Why, when he came to us with those wild tales of monsters-" "There are no monsters, David. That's just superstisious nonsense." Robert cut him off. David snorted again. "Nonsense, Bob? It wasn't nonsense that chewed half of my grandson's body before leaving him in the street. I think Will might have been on to something. Something dangerous." Robert sneered. "Something dangerous? You're just afraid of the dark. This permanent night has everyone spooked" "Hell yes I'm afraid, but not only am I afraid for us, but for the people we lead down here." David retorted. "I think we'll be fine, and so will our followers. What do you think, Forrest?" A man plainly of Native American descent simply muttered, "Whatever you say, Bob." And looked off into the distance. Robert grinned fiercely at the others, as if to say, "I told you so." David grimaced. "Why do we even have him still on the Council? I mean, it isn't like he votes anything except for what you tell him to, Bob." "He's here to make the group of Indians we have running with us happy. They wanted someone with us, and I chose the perfect man for the job." Robert answered, somewhat hotly. "Back to the matter at hand, boys. What about William? He should be here soon." "Yes, I can't wait to here what that beggar has to say." Robert said in a bored tone of voice. "Actually, I heard he's found himself a place to live. Seems like it's the same place he works at. Not only that, I've had reports from some of my eyes and ears that he's been seen practicing with a rifle and sword." Dave said. "And you're wasting time on him because..." "I think it's interesting to know that he's started to buy silver bullets, don't you? Sounds like our little Will is going to start Hunting." Robert didn't say anything, obviously stunned. "Well good for him. I always knew he would come to something." Forrest said. "I think I know a few guys that know a couple runes of protection. I'll point them out to him." Now the whole Council was stunned. |

The four Elders were so deep in debate that they didn't hear Will approaching until he stepped into the circle of light their fire cast. Suprised, they watched as he threw a corpse on the ground and pulled back it's lip, showing a pair of pointed fangs to the people. "Monsters exist." He said simply, allowing his evidence to speak for him. "Impossible! He probably just filed his teeth to points! You've killed an innocent man, William!" Robert was horrified. "I doubt it, Bob. Will isn't that stupid, you know. He probably knows the difference between fake fangs and real ones." David said condencendingly. OOC: Bleh, just lost my will to continue. Maybe later. |
