You have absolutely no idea what happened. All you know now is that you're on some sort of rocky landmass that's ever so slowly starting to crumble apart. Not fast enough to endanger you, but at a rate quick enough to plunge you into that neverending abyss that surrounds everywhere else if you stand there and do nothing, expecting someone else to rescue you.

There's only one path forward right now. It looks like it leads to a much larger central landmass. There's a pillar of light at the center of the mass extending upward. You're sure it'll last long enough to leisurely walk through. There's scarcely any sound...

...save for the strange, amorphic spirits floating around, glaring at you.

Megaman looked at the surrounding area in confusion. He hadn’t remembered using Dr. Light’s teleport technology. What would have been the point? The madman scientist Dr. Wiley was once again in jail, and the world was more or less at peace. Was this a trap?

Determinately, Rock moved forward at a speed quick enough to outpace the slowly crumbling landmass. Falling platforms and strange environments were nothing new to the robot, and as such the slowly crumbling area didn’t mean much to the bomber beyond a time limit.

“Hello?” He called, nearing, but not entering, the light. The odds visages surrounding him didn’t seem up for conversation, but peace was always preferable to violence.

“Where am I?” Why are you all so… angry?”

Mega Man advanced forward, traversing the strange grounds. The spirits seemed to grow ever angrier, however, as he got closer to the light.

Eventually Mega Man could make out a familiar figure in the distance, very close to the light. This figure seemed to be engaged in combat with...

...the same kind of spirits that now moved to block Mega Man's path. Nuts.

The boy robot frowned as the two creatures made their intents pretty obvious.

Silently, Megaman jumped over them and continued on his way shot his buster at the fire spirit a lot.

Something about the air seemed...strange. It was more readily apparent when the Mega Buster shots struck the two spirits. Each took 48 damage, roughly three times the amount of damage that was anticipated.

Fire Spirit: 196/244 HP
Earth Spirit: 196/244 HP

Mega Man continued the assault, firing a steady stream of Mega Buster shots at the Fire Spirit. 48 damage!

ENEMY PHASE

The air around the Fire Spirit exploded in flames as it sent a fireball at Mega Man, impacting for 24 damage.

The Earth Spirit opted instead to tackle Mega Man. Mega Man staggered backward, flashing, from another 24 damage to the chest.

Fire Spirit: 148/244 HP
Earth Spirit: 196/244 HP

Mega Man: 234/282 HP

MEGA MAN PHASE

The situation appeared grim. Mega Man would have to put some extra effort into this fight to escape intact, or hope that he could evade his foes' attacks.

megaman slid under the enemies and continued on his way shot his megabuster more because that's how he had solved all of his problems and overcome all his fears in the past.



Though perhaps doing so wasn't the best habit to form, seeing as he was now banned from almost every zoo in the world and also Australia.

A volley of rounds flew forward, almost randomly. It seemed Mega Man was firing without any target in mind.

It was fortuitous that the Fire Spirit ended up taking the brunt of the assault. (48 damage!)

ENEMY PHASE

The Earth Spirit tried tackling Mega Man again. Unfortunately, Mega Man was still blinking from the last attack, so the spirit just phased through harmlessly.

After the mercy invincibility expired, though, the Fire Spirit blasted Mega Man with another fireball. (24 damage!)

Fire Spirit: 100/244 HP
Earth Spirit: 196/244 HP

Mega Man: 210/282 HP

MEGA MAN PHASE

In the distance, a charging sound could be heard...

...when a giant buster shot completely engulfed the Fire Spirit. The Earth Spirit was distracted by its companion suddenly exploding.

As the giant buster pierced through the fire Spirit and continued its flight, Megaman quickly reacted, jumping over the blast without hesitation, his heavy armored boots barely clearing the plasma as he dodged. On his downward path aided by gravity, Megaman continued shooting his barrage of yellow pellets against the last spirit. Whoever had fired that shot was powerful, and the blue bomber found himself hoping for a friend, rather than yet another enemy or rival as he looked to the source of the shot.

The Earth Spirit was unable to dodge the torrent of bullets. (64 damage!)

ENEMY PHA-

A buster shot crashed through the above text. Oh my. I should fix that.

Mega Man quickly exploited the lack of his phase ending to fill the Earth Spirit full of plasma. (128 damage!)

Okay, fixed!

ENEMY PHASE

The Earth Spirit is too busy swearing at the text to attack.

Mega Man: 210/282 HP

The spirit exploded into ectoplasmic circles.

VICTORY!

The party would have obtained 50 exp, but the Lich DM stole this amount from the past already. Oh well, it all works out in the end.

Mega Man could see someone running up to him...

his right arm still supporting his left buster arm steady, Megaman turned to the runner and slowly lowered, but did not unform, his buster. He had no way of knowing if this was a friend or an enemy, and wasn't really willing to let his guard completely down, even if the mysterious stranger did help him there was no guarantee that he was doing it to assist and wasn't just being a Bass.

"Who are you?"

"Relax, Mega Man," Proto Man said as he got close enough to confirm his identity. "Looked like you were having trouble, so I pitched in. Let's get out of here."
