I gave up on the fibre board as it took too long....

Wonder if i did this fuselage properly... Is there anyway to secure the bearers? other than probably laminating it with ply wood?

2 days left, plane still yet to look like a plane...

For fiber board, use scroll or band saw.
You got an unusual fuselage, guess you have to laminate with ply.

Flown plane today... a bit sensitive, still slightly tail heavy, but was stable in the air and glides quite well on landing... only problem was that we didnt bring the right size com key today, didnt manage to set it right... speed not consistent, but during that few rounds that it peaked, it ran about 2.2?? somewhere there... and range less than 20 laps... guess we just have to tune the engine right and we are all set for sun :-)

Thanks to the "dentist"

Pat: no plague... but a few of my plane's teeth got grind-ed...

Interesting that the engine was mounted inboard, on the top face of the mounting lugs! Never seen it done that way before. Wonder why I didn't notice when I was down there.

Hope the improved plane flies faster!

Going to get a reworked Cox Conquest soon.. wonder how fast it'll go. Where do those shut-off units come from?

hmmmm... will have to keep the same mounting method this time too as the venturi direction cannot be altered.

However this time, i will be experimenting on two different positions of the tank to find out which works better:

(1) Tank on the outboard while the feed tube links to the inboard where the feed of the engine is still on the outboard, and then attempt to add a cheek to the fuselage and streamline it... wow, thinking of it already sounds tough enough.... :'( plus changing the tubing will be a big headache, but at least i can hide my tank half in the fuselage and half behind the engine cylinder...

(2) Tank on the inboard like the previous, but this time shifting it properly so that it will be of the correct position in line with the thrust of the engine... This means i have to make a more slant tank and think about where to put my cutoff... ^o)

my my... both sounds equally bad... should i just change my choice of engine...??? hahahhahahah :P

Cox conquest... good good... shutoffs we get from Steve Rothwell... i have sold out my last piece already... but if you need, i can help you order.

Problem with Cox Conquest (and glows in general) is you need a HUGE venturi and pressure fuel feed of some sort. Also lots of fuel (though that shouldn't be a problem). Also have a pair of Nelson glow .15s.

How much were the shutoffs? Have to think hard before building a racer and getting into this..
