The Profile Noblarf is flying. Noblarf #2 is flying. It is time to begin NoblARF #3. This one will get a Fox 35 stunt built with a 60th anniversary case, and a plasma P&C from Tony Cincotta. |

This P&C is not by Fox. It is aftermarket by Tony Cincotta from Australia. |

Hi Garth, My guesstimate completion for the LA Warmth would be around 2 months too. Question, what is the difference between the p/l from Tony and Fox? I have a OS 40 H,and am thinking of powering it on a Brodak Magician, what your advice? Or maybe a Merco 35? Thanks. H B Ang. |

As long as the OS 40H has a good ring, you can't get a much better engine. Be careful, they made 3 versions of the engine. The "P" version was a pylon racing version. Stay away from that one. |

The Cincotta version had a heavy walled cylinder so was a 32 or 33 instead of a 35. |

Thanks, Garth for your replies. I think the 40H is not the p version. Has twin bearings and ringed piston. Flat cylinder head. H B Ang. |

Use 5% nitro/20%castor with 2% klotz added for detergent value. |

Thanks Garf, I always use 22% - 23% oil, usually, 50-50 mix. I also realise that 40H is ringed, so more castor. H B Ang. |

Ran in the OS40H and ASP 15A converted to c/l today. It seems that the 40H can do 4-2 run. After 1/2 hour run, I tilted the test stand nose up and the engine went to 2 cycle. Held it for 20 seconds and back to horizontal for 30 seconds at 4 cycle to cool. Repeated that several times. Each run is about 2 minutes with cooling period of about 3 - 4 minutes, ie cool to touch with finger without backing off. Hope when mounted on model, with 'g' force, it would run 4-2, without runaway. Last run at full speed for 4 minutes with BYO 10x6 prop, no problem. ASP 15A ABC engine on 7x4 prop, ran very rich for about 20 seconds to clear any rough spots as per normal procedure, then to almost peak at wet 2 run. 2 minute per run with 10-15 seconds peak by squeezing the fuel line. Ran peak at 5th run. Sounds promising for this level engine. Both engines are easy to start. I intend to mount the 40H on an ARF Oriental, looks like I have to shorten the nose by about 1/2". Did a taped up trial for balance, had to put 50 gms tail weight! Now back to work bench for the L A Warmth. H B Ang. Edited by anghweebeng, Monday Aug 15 2011, 06:26 PM.

The H40 is well known for the ability to do the 4-2-4 break. Be aware the rear bearing is very rare. Boca Bearings has them, but I wouldn't bet on them having them for much longer. If you plan on putting a lot of mileage on the engine, I would order a spare now.
