Hmmmmm....I believe our LHS has the Oracover checkerboard design. Oh well maybe I'll go with something very basic an unfussy. In other words...something easy...lol.

Lol, i searched real long to find this old thread... haha... shows how old this plane is already. Yesterday was disgusted by the covering, so i tore everything out ![]() ![]() Still thinking of a new colour scheme for the plane Edited by Joyce Wong, Wednesday Jul 3 2013, 01:52 PM.

Joyce, while you are at it, have you beef up the fuselage area where the trailing edge of the wing meet? Have fun. H B Ang. |

Not yet, still filling up the holes created by the crash with microballoon n epoxy first... but my intention was to glue two strips of carbon across the length of the fuselage left n right. Does this method work? |

Roughen the carbon strips and CA to fuselage. You will be surprised that CA sticks to carbon very well. H B Ang. |

Did some work to the plane, filled up many gaps and reinforced the back of the fuselage... still trying my magic to change the leadouts without taking out the bellcrank... pretty amazed i managed to do one side... real test of worm's eyesight! I am starting to wonder if my carbon strip is too short though.... ![]()

CA two more longer carbon strips on the higher portions. Grain direction of fin should be sort of parallel to the L E. Have fun. H B Ang. |

Ta da... Renewing the lead out wires without taking out the bellcrank and removing a whole chunk of the sheeting made me felt proud of myself... squeezing small needles through balsa and all just to get that thin wire across the hole in the bellcrank and under took me an amazing long half an hour battle with the plane. But all is over.. (PS: if i hadnt taken this photo for this post, i would have covered my wing without realising the leadout was stuck to one of my rib when i was doing some repairs... )![]() After adding the carbon strips at the top, i took it for a bloody shower! Woa! ![]() Edited by Joyce Wong, Thursday Aug 8 2013, 10:20 AM.
