After the short lived Fronkensteen 3, I'm ready to try it again. I picked up some assorted parts at the King Orange Internationals, and they are going together. The wing is from a Super Chipmunk, the fuselage is from an ARF Cardinal, The tail group is unknown, the rest is salvaged or improvised. It will either be Fronkensteen 4, or Koisteen.

Moving along a little slow. Just took delivery of the flaps. Sig really harpooned me on that one. Also assembling an ARF Nobler at the same time. Decided to use twin pushrods on that one.

I managed to complete the airframe and cover half the wing. I had to order more covering to finish it. The controls are unusual. It uses a double reverse pushrod setup. One pushrod goes from the bellcrank to the elevator horn, a second pushrod goes from the elevator horn to the flap horn. This is done to give me a minimal flap throw.

Igor Burger has the logarithm flaps for this purpose. Kind of complex! :X

It's almost done. I need to run the engine after I put the fuel system together.

After a test flight, I decided it needed a rudder after all, SO, it's back to the drawing board.

That is my "after muffler". See link for full explanation.

Test flew it again today. It flies great, but a little fast. It even looks fast. I will need to slow it down a little.

I changed the FP 35 for the 35S ABC. We'll see what difference that makes.

The 35S still needs break in. Now it has an LA 40.

I fried the LA 40, so after a crash, I installed an LA 46. I corrected some problems including some bad paint. Now to test fly it AGAIN. I am trying an unusual prop. I bought a XOAR 14-6E prop and cut it down to 10". It looks like too much prop, but a test run says otherwise.
UPDATE:After a test flight, it's clear I need to seal the flap hinge line.

I ended up with a BY&O 12-5 prop. Now for the King Orange Internationals.
