After my last wreck, I took the time to mount the double gear. Looks good. I hope it works as well as the one on the PT-19.

The last flight, I had a Johnson CS turning a Tornado 8-8 3 blade prop. Pulled pretty good. Next try will have a really radical prop.

The tip weight had broken loose, so I opened it up. The area that had the weight glued to it had rotted away. I opened the tip and removed the entire tip and tip rib and will replace the lot.

UPDATE: Rebuild is almost done. Need to do some sanding, then install the weight and cover the tip.

Tip is done. I had quite an experience covering it. The covering I used decided to omit the clear backing that is usually used to protect the adhesive. I later found out that the only notice given was a tiny label attached to the wrapper.

The engine seized and stood stiff. Seems that the lower end of the rod seized to the crankpin. Time for an engine change. I put another Johnson on the Galaxy. This one has even more power.

The replacement engine did not want to hold a setting. I replaced the rod in the original and remounted it. I also replaced the Fox NVA with a K&B. Works better now.

After the engine quit inverted, the landing bent the last K&B NVA I had. I pulled the NVA out of a Veco 19 series 100 and installed it in the Johnson. Lets see how long this one lasts.

Inverted landing is one of my trademark landings, including max air speed, zero ground speed. :'(
Have fun.

The Johnson CS I had on the Galaxy was still tight. As it loosened up, it kept gaining power till it was too much for the galaxy. I swapped it out for the same small shaft Johnson I had used on the original Galaxy in the old days. I hope it runs as well as I remember.

The last flight resulted in a bad crash. It may be quite a while till I repair it.

I am piecing the fuselage back together now. This thing is going to look ugly.

I put up 4 more flights on this thing today. The engine started to get rough at the end, so I changed the plug when I got home.

The plug helped, then a hard landing broke the fuselage again. Back to the bench.
