Hi, no one building anything? I am currently building a class a model. Attached are some images. Will post up more images on the forum soon, hopefully i can set more time to building and get it ready by next week... Hahs, fat hope i guess, these parts might be kept in some corner and never get assembled around until next month? At least i didnt say next yr... xP One qs though, how does high wing, mid wing and low wing affect flight performance? Why? Which would be more suitable for racing? ex, when i was flying mr willie's white racer with mid wing, it ocillated lesser when flying low than his brown racer with high wing. |

Cox T D 15 is no good at all!! Pass it to me In one of my recent post, reduce parasite drag. If you are building a wing and tail model, wing section must not be flat bottomed. L E and T E chord line should be 1/3 T lower and 2/3 T upper. High point at lower surface is 30% C, H P at upper surface is 15% C. What you have experienced is 'hunting'. Thrust line , wing chord line and tail feather chord line not parallel, could be one of the causes. Stiff control linkages is another. Try to slightly enlarge the elevator horn hole to give some play. C G position? Tail feather too smaller area? Tail moment too short? Handle spacing too wide? Lastly, change the pilot. H B Ang. Thnx mr ang, i will change the pilot... hahs... i rather doubt my flying skills than doubt mr willie's building skills... It's not really a matter of sensitivity... rather, the two planes catches the wind differently especially when flying low... not sure how to explain it though... So, the position of the wing does not affect the flying? Mr ang, why do you want the engine if its not good?

I make mistakes, everybody makes mistakes. Go through my previous post and check out on the model/s. You are suppose to say that ok it is no good and I can have it! Seriously, it is a very good engine during its time, now it is a collectors' engine. Wears off fast! If you really want to use it, use at least 23% castor. Mid wing would have least parasite drag. Mr Ang, Your building skills can get you such models, why eye on the ones i am flying now?? haha Anyway, i tried flying the brown racer again today using mvvs, was ok already.. Less sensitive, and tension was good. At least for me right now... hahs, getting addicted to racing... Shall shove away my other "projects" Doubt i will finish my stunt plane anytime soon will continue building my cox first, muahaha |

No,I don't want your model. Its the TD!! MVVS is a heavier engine than what was on the model. So it is the c.g. Have fun flying. HB Ang. |

Orh, haha, your post was confusing, but nonetheless, too bad, I have heard about the performace of the TD before your unreliable "its no good". so won't fall for your trick... haha We could not have all this fun, without your help in calling tower, and risking you know who's nagging. So thank you once again! Edited by Joyce Wong, Saturday Aug 14 2010, 01:06 AM.

the reason y the brown racer is unstable is because the tailplane was cracked and vibrating during flight. i epoxy the crack n now is stable |

hi,mid and lo wing racing models are about the same, what affects the stability is the CG n the wing shape e.g symatrical or flat bottom. the placement of the wing depends on the position of the fuel tank, landing gear and the bellcrank and maybe the tailplane. the speed of the plane depends on the wing shape, drag, frontal area, propellar and the power of the engine. all these factors will ultimately determin how fast ur plane fly. i may be wrong, but this is just a rough guide |

Hi Hi, the forum has been quiet these few days. So i came back with more noise!!! My plane is almost ready for painting! It currently looks short and fat to me.. hopefully after painting it, it will look more proportionate. I wish i could show you more pictures, but i havent figured a way to add it into the post itself. So please view through the links for now instead. I will try solve the problem soon. Cant wait to maiden my plane, but hopefully it will not end up like my cyclone... sob* -Joyce |
