 I'm inclined to agree with Grant that it is likely due to the lighting and photography.
Although Liverpudlian women are generally massive sunbed fans I wouldn't class as Jen as loving the orange look, like certain scousers e.g. Alex Curran (Steve Gerard's missus).

 "Raw and red"? Pfft, at the most she just looks a little too pink! I don't think anybody'd even notice if her hair were just a couple of shades darker, either. It's the contrast that's making her look pink. And I don't even know what they mean by "raw" since her skin looks perfectly smooth and healthy to me.
