Just thought I'd see how many of us have voted. I've just took a dander down to the polling station and cast my vote. Now, I know alot of people will say "No, why should I, it won't make a difference" and "Never have, never will" yada yada yada... but at the end of the day, why NOT vote? I've sat on both sides of the fence, so I'm not going to preach about voting as I was of the opinion that I'd never vote in previous years. This is my first chance to vote for a general election, so I thought I'd take the oppurtunity to do so. I've voted in a local before, but that's it. Obviously I'm not going to ask who you've voted for, that's private. But just thought that seeing as it's vote night, I was curious as to who actually had

Nobody ![]() The Tories have the most votes, and seats, but not enough to be considered a majority. Which means that Brown has the right to try and form deals with other parties (like the Lib Dems and lesser ones) in order to try to gain the majority. |

We won't have anything like Greece - we're not in as bad a state as their economy is. We all knew it would end up in a hung parliament though, the way things have gone. None of the parties have really been able to state their proper intentions for paying off this debt in real terms. Here's a tip to them - how about getting the fucking arsehole bankers who caused most of this mess to pay for it instead of STILL handing out these ridiculous bonuses. Makes me sick. We bail out the banks with our taxes. We own the banks. Then to pay the debt off, WE pay with our taxes!!! How does that work?? We're paying for it all twice!

Here here Bloody stupidity is what that is! Another way to sort the debt out, would be to stop handing hand outs to imigrants! They come to our shores with fuck all and our government give them money... not only to set them selves up, but a weekly amount to live on. Stop all handouts to none uk residents! Let's see how many want to come to our shores then. |

Abso-fucking-lutely! Shut the doors, get rid of those that aren't supposed to be here, then only open the doors again to those who have the skills needed to help this country progress. Illegals shuold not be taking the valuable spaces of those who have lived and worked here all their lives, taking money they don't deserve. |

Its your right not to vote if thats what you choose Bazz You waver the right to have any gripes though mate, ie when the fuel duty rises! If you dont vote you basicly sit back and take it like a bitch I dont know much about politics, but i try to know a little and listen to what they are saying throughout the years and then in the lead up to election. You are right about all of the are thieving cnuts, but some are more for the working class/middle class. where as others are for the rich kids and profetionals... |

Of course it's your right to not vote, and that's fair enough. And I agree, they're all as bad as each other, but at the end of the day people died fighting for our right to free speech and the right to vote is part of that. By using your vote, albeit it for one of the bigger 3 or some of the lesser parties, you are stating what you think. Take this election for example, by actually getting a hung parliament, they must be surely worrying that what they're doing is wrong, and they're now forced to take a look at how things work. Which is why they'll hopefully change the way the voting system works. The way seats are won is not in relation to proportional representation which is grossly unfair. Even if you use your vote to vote for one of the lesser parties, who basically have no chance of getting in power, you're showing that you disagree with the main parties way of doing things. And if everybody used their vote in this way, things would be thrown right up in the air. |
