My kickdown cable has snapped on my previa. Its nothing special! Just like a brake cable on a push bike. Toyota want £48+vat pffffft I'm not paying that! Two breakers on ebay replied to me, they both have one. The one said £20 so I said yup that will do... he then said add £10 on for postage. Wtf? £10 for a cable to be posted? I told him where he could stick it! The other breaker said he had one I can have it for £45. Wtf? A few quid more I can get a new one... the one he is selling is atleast 15 years old! Robbing bstards! I thought eastwood was bad with his gtir parts! These guys are daylight robbers! I've got a cable kit from a company for £12 deliverd. Just use my own outer cable. |

Robbing bastards indeed... However, I went to Nissan to get a price for a handbrake cable for our R's... this is quite funny. Left side £50 Right side £50 Centre part (you know the one, with the junction box splitter and about 15 cm's of cable which connects to the handbrake lever) - £200. You know why - they only do it as part of the whole handbrake assembley, so you have to buy the whole new lever aswell, so £300 pretty much to replace your handbrake cable from Nissan. Since then though, I've seen them appear on Ebay without the lever, for about £13

How can they get away with it? £300 for a handbrake cable? I don't see why people use manufacturers! I know some parts are main dealer only... but for other parts like lights, oil filters etc. I can't see how they can justify their prices!? Its just greed at the end of the day. For my fuel filter its £38+vat. Ebay its £13 deliverd. That's £25 difference. And for what? |

It's mad isn't it. Some people would argue that the pattern parts don't last as long. That may be true, but you can buy twice as many for the same money, at LEAST! Ridiculous. I only use Nissan when I absolutely have to. |
