Following on from Stu's music post, any film freaks on here? I am, love them. Even rubbish films, I never regret watching them unless they're diabolical. Without watching the bad films how do you judge the good films? ![]() Anyway, do people have a favourite film? Something you can and have watched many times? I've got loads  Lord of the Rings Groundhog Day Back To The Future Shawshank Redemption The Game The Green Mile One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Full Metal Jacket Schindlers List Lock Stock The Public Enemy (1931 film, James Cagney, ace!) Sin City Apocolypse Now Ahhh man I could go on forever! :lol:I done Media Studies for A-Level and the problem I have now is I find it very difficult to sit and watch a film without analysing everything, from camera angles, filters, frame speed, location, hidden meanings etc It's good but it does my head in  |

I do like films but find it hard nowerdays to sit down and watch one  I love lord of the rings and have the trilagie dvd set but haven't got around to watching all of them and I've had it 3 years  I love a good horror, saw is ace! I've got the latest one at home and had it for over a month now. Can't be arsed to watch it... I'm not really into comedy movies but loved white chicks Crank was good and I have crank 2, but guess what..... I've had it since it came out and haven't watched it  I love war films too. I've watched band of brothers over 10 times and there's 10 disks to the set once you start watching it you can't stop! Saving private ryan is another good one. |

Lord of the Rings is quality, you really should set down to watch them. I'm not normally a fan of the fantasy type films, but this was so well written, so well visualised and just brilliantly done, it is now one of my faves. Got the box set for Christmas having watched them on TV for the first time in 2009 and I've watched all 3 already  I watched the 2nd and 3rd on the trot before I went back to work  Saw one was good, the rest were a let down. Crank 1 was a good no brains action film, Crank 2 is waaaaaaaaaay too far fetched. When you watch it you'll see what I mean. Still something to watch, but it went a little too far at points. Band Of Brothers is a TV series isn't it? I'm not knocking that, but I've never watched them. Saving Private Ryan was good indeed, but the reason it's not a fave of mine is I thought the story was a bit on the weak side. Still a great film to watch. You seen Full Metal Jacket Stu? That's awesome mate, real classic. |

Stu - I've got Full Metal Jacket, I'll bring it over to you mate, I'm popping over to see Shaun on Saturday morning. And as for Crank 2, if you don't want to know this and plan on watching it, then don't read this, but one part he has a bomb stuck to the bottom of his car, so whilst driving rather fast through a building site, he launches the car up a ramp, it turns upside down, and he hooks the bomb off with a crane hook  That done it for me, I couldn't watch the rest of it properly. Like I say though, just a mindless action film when you're not up for thinking. Mart - good lad, some awesome choices there, all of which I'd agree with, I forgot about them when I was writing my list! However, I've gone off T2 as it's been on that many times. No denying it's an awesome film, well ahead of it's time and still looks great! I've just seen it tooooo many times. And yeah mate cheers, I'll give that Band of Brothers a go mate! You like Stand By me? Great film, but have you seen 1969? Keither Sutherland too, and it's quality. Sorry guys, I could go on for ages  |
