I'm playing it now, downloaded the PS1 version for the PS3. It's poorly translated, but it seems much more political in nature than the other FF games I've played. It's a refreshing change, makes the world more real and gritty!

I've never been able to really get into Tactics games... not sure why. I've played one or two that held my attention for a week or two, but they never really manage to capture my imagination or passion.
In Real Life ™, people who aim to maximize their potential for lethality are called "dangerous psychotics" and are typically avoided by everyone who isn't forced to endure their company until someone has the opportunity to put them away or else put them down. No one likes that guy. Don't play that guy.

I think it is that I was reading A Song of Ice and Fire when I started it. I'm nearly finished Tactics now, and there's been so much (literal and figurative) backstabbing, conquests and crazy religious strife, that it barely seems recognizable as a Final Fantasy game. It seems like it was definitely made for a more mature audience, and that's a point strongly in its favour. I really haven't seen a game quite like it before.
