When I was a kid, the corner store rented NES games... and they had the whackest collection of titles you'd hope to see. Excited about a popular title that just came out? Look somewhere else, buck-o! One of the games they had on hand was overlooked pretty frequently, but, one weekend, with nothing else to pull us through, my friend and I rented Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom and were pleasantly surprised! Oddly, the retardedly named and animated game was actually pretty fun, and had some good puzzles. ![]() The game is an RPG adventure game in which you play as Sir Cucumber, an anthropomorphic cucumber, moving through a land of other anthropomorphic fruits and vegetables in a quest to save Princess Tomato from the clutches of Minister Pumpkin. It's built in much the same way that the old computer D&D games were, but with a simplified control scheme to fit with the NES controller. ![]() As luck would have it, I did find a flash based browser version of the game over here, so I can finally play again :P Apparently it's in the Wii Store as of Feb. last year! I hadn't seen it when I'd looked last... perhaps it was before then. Yikes. |

In Real Life ™, people who aim to maximize their potential for lethality are called "dangerous psychotics" and are typically avoided by everyone who isn't forced to endure their company until someone has the opportunity to put them away or else put them down. No one likes that guy. Don't play that guy. Donate to Ankhanu Press | |
