Gravity Sling from Riptide Games is a neat little physics based game for iPhone and iPod Touch that I'm finding really fun. The premise is simple: get your astronaut to the space shuttle by sending him off on a trajectory of your choosing and use the gravitation of nearby objects to sling him to the goal. You provide your space traveler with a velocity vector and the rest is up to the environment. There are different planetoids supplying gravity and acting as obstacles to your path; some are stationary, while some move, adding an interesting element to the difficulty of a given course. The further you can make your little dude travel, the more points you get. So, if you can make him loop around in space for a really long time and still manage to reach the shuttle, all the better (I guess he has a good air supply). The trajectory you follow is traced in a coloured line, making the game a little bit of a passively controlled spirograph! You can make some serious pictures with your course too! All in all, for free or $0.99, this is a pretty sweet game. The free version offers you the first... I think 20 levels of the game.

In Real Life ™, people who aim to maximize their potential for lethality are called "dangerous psychotics" and are typically avoided by everyone who isn't forced to endure their company until someone has the opportunity to put them away or else put them down. No one likes that guy. Don't play that guy. Donate to Ankhanu Press | |
