Tycho from Penny Arcade made mention of a game for iPhone that had caught his attention called Word Ace. I downloaded the game for free to see what it's all about. It's an interesting idea that combined poker (Texas Hold 'em) with Scrabble. Rather than having card hands and trying to get the most points, instead you get letters and have to construct the best word with the letters you get, placing bets along the way, poker-style, based on the letters you have in hand and on the table.

It's a really good premise, combining word games with poker... and making it online interactive. You play at a table with up to 5 other players, trying to win as much money (game money) as possible... it takes strategy and a decent vocabulary. They provide $1000 each day to help you out, which is great if you're losing a lot... sometimes the letters just aren't in your favour. But your winnings stay on your account day to day, allowing you to amass plenty of points and, if you're up to it, play higher stakes tables.

As far as I know it's iPod Touch compatible as well, so if you don't have an iPhone, it's possible to play on your Touch.
In Real Life ™, people who aim to maximize their potential for lethality are called "dangerous psychotics" and are typically avoided by everyone who isn't forced to endure their company until someone has the opportunity to put them away or else put them down. No one likes that guy. Don't play that guy.
