The Gran Turismo franchise for Playstation has been a favorite of mine for the past ten years, so when I got my PS3, I had GT5 added in on the purchase for some racing goodness. First impression is that, as you would expect, the game looks fantastic. The franchise has had some of the most spectacular graphics for their time, and this is no different. Race game play is pretty much exactly what you would expect after playing the prior games, with a variety of viewing angles to race from, each with slightly different sound qualities based on where you are in relation to the car. Race, win, earn money, buy new cars, repeat. That's pretty much the basic formula.

The downside is... it's a Prologue to the actual full release of the game... it's incomplete. One of the most important aspects of the game for me is upgrading/customizing your cars... that is conspicuously missing from this game. The race series are also missing; you enter individual races, one course at a time, rather than being able to go through a full series to get your cup.

While the game looks great and races well, the game is seriously lacking the real guts of Gran Turismo... it was something of a disappointment. I look forward to the full game whenever they complete it.

In Real Life ™, people who aim to maximize their potential for lethality are called "dangerous psychotics" and are typically avoided by everyone who isn't forced to endure their company until someone has the opportunity to put them away or else put them down. No one likes that guy. Don't play that guy.
