It would seem that Bioware is producing a new MMO Star Wars game; Star Wars - The Old Republic. The game is going to be set about 300 years after Knights of the Old Republic and Revan's disappearance into the Unknown regions. They're apparently trying to make The Old Republic more story driven than other MMOs, including Star Wars Galaxies. There's no real hint on the story content so far, other than that there is growing instability in the galaxy along the lines of the old Jedi Civil War (KotOR) borders. They also hint that perhaps HK-47 will make another appearance, though that's conjecture based on the statement "some droids can remain active for a long time". I'd love to give this a try... if I could only reconcile my issues with MMO prices. Perhaps when I have a well paying job it'll be easier to reconcile :P There is no release date set yet. |

I hear the good/evil choices are something that has an effect on the story, and it's not somethinng that's assigned to you at the start of the game. For instance, you can be a good sith. I'm looking forawrd to seeing what Bioware put together on this, especially if it's a PC/console release since my PC would likely not be up to specs. |

I hadn't even considered the possibility of a console release. I'd prefer playing it on PC, but yeah, I've always had issues with PC specs :P |

This trailer's been out for a while now (June 1), but I posted it in IRC chat rather than here back then... but I figured it would be a good idea to share it, in case you haven't seen it. If nothing else (given that it really has nothing to do with what the game will be like...) it's a pretty sweet Star Wars-y watch :) Enjoy. |
