The thread on the D&D whiteboard/map applicatin for online gaming apparently was part of the old forum and didn't get brought here... so here we are, Gametable! There are versions for Windows, Mac and Linux, and allows people to play RPGs on the net with maps and grids to ease combat and movement in real time. I've tested it sparsely, and it seems to work pretty well, but does require players to be on at the same time. |

In Real Life ™, people who aim to maximize their potential for lethality are called "dangerous psychotics" and are typically avoided by everyone who isn't forced to endure their company until someone has the opportunity to put them away or else put them down. We (myself, Vong, Nareos, and others) tested this out for actual gaming last night and it went really quite well. The built in die roller was convenient and simple to use, the chat function is basic enough to not be cluttered (though some customizability to separate your text from others would be nice), and really facilitated game play. The mapping functions weren't exactly beautiful, but quite functional, and the customizable underlays and pogs will allow for some nice gaming experiences. I think Vong is going to be making use of the program extensively now in his upcoming IRC Star Wars game. We were fairly impressed with this little piece of free code. |
