Much like Lego Star Wars, this game is a brilliant mix of Lego, the Star Wars universe, freedom of game play and humour. The game play is pretty much the same as its predecessor (which was immensely enjoyable), with a couple changes key changes, primarily in the Free Play mode after beating a stage. First up, while in Lego Star Wars there were elements of the game that could only be affected by the Force, LSW2 took it a step further and added elements that could only be affected by the Dark Side of the Force as well, requiring access to characters such as Darth Vader or the Emperor, making for a lot of dynamic character/environment interaction throughout the game. There are also more vehicle stages... which, depending on your point of view, may be positive or negative. I've never been satisfied with the vehicle stages and controls in either game... so for me, this was not such a great thing. The character builder is a nice touch as well. There are two bacta tanks next to the cantina bar in which you can build custom characters for use in Free Play mode. Additional heads, torsos, etquipment, etc are unlocked as you play the game. If you choose a lightsaber as an accessory, your character will be a Force user and the colour of the blade determines whether they are Dark or Light side, which plays into the previously mentioned addition to the game and environment interaction. There is a Bounty Hunter section in which you play a team of bounty hunters on the hunt for specific characters in a timed trial. These can be a fair challenge, but figuring them out isn't usually too difficult. Getting max points in the alloted time, however, can be. The puzzles in the game are mixed between more challenging and stupidly simple compared to the first game and each level takes about 20-30 minutes to play, but overall, the game has gret replay value and lots to find. |

In Real Life ™, people who aim to maximize their potential for lethality are called "dangerous psychotics" and are typically avoided by everyone who isn't forced to endure their company until someone has the opportunity to put them away or else put them down. No one likes that guy. Don't play that guy. Donate to Ankhanu Press | |

This game is hilarious...I love it. The cutscene's are absolutely hysterical (at least, I find them to be). My daughter and I get a lot of enjoyment playing the mix-matched...and sometimes mismatched characters. She has a great time playing as a Princess Leia with the pink lightsaber, and I of course have to play Han Fett. We're going about the series kind of like how the movies were released...We got SW Lego II...and with the next paycheck, I hope to post a little bit here about the first three Episodes of Lego Star Wars. |
