Username: madeleine Preferred Name: Viv Age (optional): 23 Years role-playing: since early 2000s Favorite Genre: Slice of life, human drama, really anything interesting. Least favorite genre: Aliens, zombies, werewolves Anything you’d like to add: I think I came upon this place forever ago and meant to sign up but never did. I'm always looking for new people to write with. Here goes! Sample: (taken from an old HP roleplay.) Ginny was not happy about James moving in with Teddy, not because Teddy wasn’t a lovely young man, but because James was too young to be on his own, and did Jamie know how much she worried? Still, the reason that his mother tended to fret was all the more reason for James to strike out on his own. Ever since he’d graduated from Hogwarts, Ginny’s concern had become more stifling, and Harry wasn’t exactly helping. He loved his parents, he really did, but at seventeen (almost eighteen, even, next month) James preferred to love his parents at a respectable distance. And when Teddy brought it up, there wasn’t any logical answer but yes. James had been to Teddy’s a few times, when he wasn’t busy with work, but already Teddy’s place was like an extension of home, except he could do a lot more than he usually could. He could stay out later, have more than one firewhiskey if he felt like, eat sweets before supper, invite friends over, that sort of thing. Teddy was more or less his best friend and his big brother all rolled into one, and that was pretty awesome. Of course, Teddy would say that he liked the three of them equally, just to be fair and nice, but James knew the truth. “Merlin, Teddy, you’re acting as if I’ve never been here.” But James supposed it was different when he was here as a real flatmate. “And you’ve seen my room when Mum’s not brandishing a cleaning charm. I think there’s just less pizza. Otherwise I can’t tell the difference.” James liked messes, except it sounded better when he called it organised chaos. “ ‘S not like you’re going to suddenly burst in on me while I’m showering, or something.” Thus far, James had avoided talk of him becoming an Auror. Harry had brought it up once or twice, but James had landed himself an apprenticeship working at Quality Quidditch. It wasn’t as if he could turn that down, so the subject was at least waylaid for a year. He followed Teddy into the spare room, dragging his own trunk. Ginny had fretted while he was packing, so James was positive that half the stuff in there he didn’t really need. The room was smaller than the one at home, but that was all right. He could deal. “Nah, this is fine. Really. I’m sure Mum’s crammed most of my room in here, so I probably won’t miss anything.” Besides, it wasn’t something he had to do right away. He could take a few days, settle in. “And I haven’t really thought about decorating.” There were few posters strewn up in his room, and his room had lots of deep blue in it, but otherwise, interior decorating wasn’t a priority. James pushed his trunk next to the dresser against the wall, just so he didn’t have to worry about it now. He had to pause to think a minute. “I don’t...think so? I mean, I’m here now so if I wanted to know anything I could just ask,” he pointed out good naturedly. Then James snapped his fingers as he remembered. He grinned. “Did anything ever happen with what’s-her-name? I don’t remember, but y’know, the one you told me about, at work? I just need to know if I need to make myself scarce at the weekends or something.” Teddy didn’t talk about his love life much -- well, to be fair, neither did James, but with Teddy it was different. He was older, after all. |
