Username:SnowWhiteTigerlilly Preferred Name:Tigerlilly is fine. Age (optional):18 (I'll be 19 in a month or so) Years role-playing: about a year Favorite Genre: Romance, adventure, drama, Sci-fi, fantasy Least favorite genre: horror Anything you’d like to add: I'm fairly new at this sort of thing but I like to write. As such it was kind of irritating when I tried to rp with people and they'd give me a one or two line response. I stumbled across this site by chance and started reading the rp's (mostly in the yaoi forum) and they're amazing! So I said to myself "I want to join them, if they'll let me." which is why i'm applying. Role-playing Sample: This is from an rp I started with someone on gaiaonline. I hope you enjoy! The people of Aekea were generally used to loud noise, dirt, bustle and clutter. It was after all an Industrial town made up of mostly factories and those who lived there knew the long hours well. They were a hardy breed of citizens. They worked hard to improve their own lives and further progress and innovation. The most striking examples of this ideal were Jerry Gilbert Harman and his daughter Melisande. Mel and her father shared a drive and passion for invention that their neighbor’s thought unrivalled. The two thrived on change. Initially it had just been Jerry who invented things. Mel had stayed in Barton with her mother and other relatives up until her mother’s passing. During this time she had begun to display an aptitude for all things mechanical just like her father. In an attempt to shield her from the possible problems this might cause later in life because of her gender, her mother did not encourage these particular traits. Instead she tried to instill lady like qualities in Mel. Unfortunately Melisande was about as good with proper etiquette as her mother was with a wrench (which was to say not at all) and the prospect was soon given up. Nevertheless Mel’s interest in all things related to science and mechanics continued to grow rapidly until both her parent’s finally relented and she went to work with her father in Aekea. The citizen’s of Aekea were initially skeptical of how well Mel would fair. After all she was part of noble blood. (Rumor had it that Mel’s mother was the only one to ever venture outside the opulence that was Durem.) Melisande was unfazed by this however and she did not back down from the challenge of proving just how capable she really was. Soon she was a much loved member of the workforce. She teamed up with her father on many of his inventive schemes. Often times the two could be found working on some new project on the first floor of Jerry’s shop. They were determined to create new gadgets for the future. Unfortunately their plans had a tendency to backfire and had caused mini explosions and minor injuries. This is why neighboring shopkeepers on the main street were not entirely concerned when smoke began pouring from one of the workshop windows. Vaguely a few passer by wondered if the fire brigade should be summoned again. A moment later a mixture of coughing and swearing could be heard and two figures flung the front door open and stumbled out of the shop thus belying any fears the neighbor’s might have had. “Dang! I thought we had it for sure this time!” Mel stated wiping her gloved hand on her brow and shaking her head. A string of her greasy auburn hair fell out of her ponytail and landed in front of her hazel colored eyes and she pushed it back in mild irritation. At eighteen she was about the average height for her age (5 ft. 5). Dressed in a high neck shirt, overalls and heavy duty work boots (all of which were stained with oil, dirt and grease.) She was hardly the image of the average young woman of her day. She pulled out a shabby looking paper boy hat from a back pocket and put it on. Anyone who did not know her would mistake her for a boy from a distance. A moment later she turned to her father. “You all right there father?” she asked with slight concern. The man in question straightened up and turned to her with a small grin. “I’m all right Mel.” He stated reassuringly. “That was some failure though huh?” he quipped in an attempt to lighten the mood. Jerry wasn’t that much taller than his daughter (5ft. 11) but he was definitely more muscular. His hair which was medium length was black and threaded with silver. His blue eyes shone with the knowledge of someone who had worked hard all his life. His outfit was similar to Mel’s though he wore jeans, no hat and his shirt lacked a collar. “We’ll get it next time” he added clapping Mel on the back. Mel only rolled her eyes. “I can’t think of what went wrong” she stated resting her gloved hand against her chin in thought. |

***Approved*** Welcome to HV! I'm glad you decided to apply instead of just lurking around. Not that there's anything wrong with lurking, it just doesn't seem as much fun as getting in on the action. With that said, go off to the forums and get yourself some action *shoos*. If you need anything please feel free to shoot me a PM. |

I wonder why it is I don't argue like this with anyone but you | |
