Devraj landed hard on his back on the sidewalk, feeling the air knocked out of him in one great gust even as his head snapped backward from the force of the impact and stunned him senseless for long moments. Had he known where he was going to land, he'd have slowed his own fall; but this was a new world to him, and its laws and physics were unknown as of yet, so he wouldn't have known how to stop the impact even if he'd known that there was going to be one.

Sitting up was a chore, so he did so slowly to make certain that nothing was broken and the minor bruises he'd incurred would heal quickly. He spent a few minutes testing all of his extremities to make certain that they were all in working order before he turned jet black eyes up to the skies and searched for the culprits who had banished him to this lesser plane.

Anger seethed within him when he got was a flicker of amusement across the back of his consciousness, but when he tried to push past the barrier that had somehow been erected in his mind, nothing answered but his own irritation and vitriol.

"I am Devraj," he hissed quietly, his voice a raw sound that clawed its way up his throat. "I will not be banished from my home! I will find you, and you will pay for your betrayal." Feeling certain that his threat had been heard, and feeling better for the issuance, the displaced God pushed himself to his feet and looked around.

He was on a darkened street with little light, but his immortal and omnipotent eyes saw everything as clearly as though it was noon on a bright, sunny day. The buildings around him were small and shabby when compared to the riches and finery that he was accustomed to, but with no current way back to his own plane, he needed to fine a place to spend the night.

No sooner had a taken three steps forward than the sky rumbled threateningly before opening and pouring down a torrent of rain. One arrogant, dominant eyebrow cocked high in agitation, and he sent a look skyward that smacked of annoyance. Caught in the open, it wasn't until the stinging little drops hit his skin that Dev realized he was completely nude and fell into a fit of fury so great that his eyes shifted from pure black to angry red and back again, and his wrath sent lightning streaking across the sky over his head to add to the symphony of thunder.

Cursing the weak willed Gods who had banished him, he summoned a robe for himself, resplendent with gold threads and precious jewels to announce his status to this new world. If the robe were not obvious enough, his other worldly beauty would certainly have been a clue as to his origins, but then again, he was a God.

Robed in finery and self-righteous anger propelling him onward, Dev reached a building at the end of the street that was larger and more elaborate than any of the other buildings he had seen thus far. Thinking it to be a place of worship for whatever Gods the creatures of this world worshiped, he pulled open the door and strode into the building as though he owned it.

Standing there, just inside the door, his flame red hair shot through his black and indigo streaks; turbulent eyes still swirling with anger; and dressed in robes like royalty, it would be instantly apparent to anyone who saw him that Dev was.... different.
Humanity is a never ending loop of amusement for one reason or another; you just have to dig far enough past the bullshit and fake faces to find the true core of idiocy.
