Simon was again silent as Mizu seemed to be reminiscing over the time he had spent with his father. It must have been hard for him, bred for such a specific purpose only to be a failure which was no fault of his own. No one asked to be born. It must have been difficult for both of his parents, not that they were traditional, but Simon liked to believe that there was something of a tiny connection between good parents and their children, moreso with parents who were unrelated by blood but involved by choice. He stood up when Mizu put his shoes on and then Simon seemed to lose his composure a bit when he saw how tall and unstable the geta that Mizu presented to him looked. "Uh...that's a pretty good warning. I can't say I have terrible balance but uh...I also can't say it's that great either. Is there perhaps a flat alternative? I mean. I can wear shoes that raise me up, I've worn platform sneakers before since that was all the lady had but...those things look sort of unsteady." He didn't want to try a balancing act, especially if he was to go in front of anyone remotely unkind in the house. He'd probably fall over out of shame at being seen fully acting out his charade. |

" Oh now, come on, live a little," murmurs Mizu, giggling as he smiles, eyes half lidded as he tilts his head. " It doesn't take long to get the hang of it,,." Mizu stands to his feet carefully, walking around slowly as he smiles. " Just give it a try Simon, if it's too much I can find you some different shoes to wear..." Mizu tilts his head, hair falling into his face as he moves toward the balcony. " I should probably water that sunflower," murmurs Mizu softly. " Gami's given me plenty of plants...they're never watered very well...if plants are around him too long his energy kills them I think..." Mizu smiles, wandering out as he raises his hand collecting water from the air as he carefully waters the sunflower, leaving the moonflower for now, knowing it would be fine. Mizu tilts his head, eyes half lidded as he moves back into the room, thinking silently for a moment as a smirk plays on his lips. " After you show me the gardens...I could teach you how to dance," murmurs Mizu as he grins. " I saw some really cute gowns in the closet!" |

Simon was still skeptical about his ability to wear such strange looking shoes but he decided that he'd listen to Mizu and at least give them a try before he ran and begged for more shoes. He got down on the floor and pulled them on. The boy grabbed the comforter of the bed for dear life as he shakily climbed to this feet and gingerly tried his balance, keeping one hand hovering above the covers of the bed in case he needed it to stabilize him. "Alright...I think I can do this," he muttered. The blonde boy took one, then two steps, and slowly made his way across the floor until he felt satisfied enough with his balance to not entirely concentrate on it. It was better to keep it in the back of his mind anyway, right? When Mizu watered the sunflower he turned back toward the balcony. "Yeah. They need a lot of care from what the gardeners told me. I usually just talk to them since I tend to overwater. One of them said that it was a sign that I would be too lenient with others. Of course, I think taking a simple mistake as an indicator of my larger personality was a little odd but I thought it was funny all the same." He turned in place, brushing a strand of his hair behind his ear and he smiled at Mizu, taking in how adorable he looked all done up. "Like I said before, it's a great look for you. It'll look even better in the sunlight, I think." |

Mizu smiles, eyes half lidded as he giggles. " Well that's good, I wouldn't want you too hurt yourself," murmurs Mizu, eyes half lidded as he strethes. " You look really cute in that..." Mizu's hair falls into his face as he stretches a bit, walking carefully as he smiles. " Yeah, overwartering them isn't a good thing for plants," murmurs Mizu, smiling as he tilts his head for a moment in thought as he giggles. " Actually I can somewhat see where that gardener was coming from..." Mizu smiles, walking over to Simon as he raises a hand to run his fingertips gently through the others hair. " You give to much of yourself...you're almost too nice for your own good...I think that's what they were getting at..." Mizu smiles, his pale fingers moving to lightly brush against Simon's injured hand. " However...that isn't always a bad trait to have...those that are kind to others eventually are rewarded," murmurs Mizu, smiling as he tilts his head, looking out toward that Moonflower as he smiles slightly. " That's the last ingrediant I'll need to fully heal your hand Simon..." |

Simon was pleased with the comment but his good mood was shaken just a bit into sadness when Mizu said that he probably was too nice for his own good. He narrowed his eyes and grabbed his injured hand with his left one, as if to hide it. It wasn't paining him nearly as much anymore, so the moonstone treatment that Mizu had given him was working thus far. Mobility was something he'd never gotten that used to in his right hand so he was used to always favoring it. "I'm not that nice. When I'm alone sometimes, or when people are getting to me I just wish that they'd go away. I still want Mr. Caldwell to stop doing bad things...and it scares me that I should feel worse about wishing for something bad to happen to him. If...if I were really nice then I wouldn't wish bad things on anyone..." His mind could be strangely wise for his years, but Simon still saw much of the world from a white and black, childish standpoint. He somehow felt that the things he felt in anger or sadness were like a permanent mark on his soul that rendered him a bad person since he couldn't always manage to think the best about people or keep an optimistic out look. It was only natural, and actually a little abnormal for someone in his position to be as kind as he was to others, but Simon didn't see it that way. |

Mizu giggles, eyes half lidded as he raises an eyebrow, fingers moving to lightly touch Simon's cheek. " The world is not black and white Simon," murmurs Mizu softly, moving to sit down on his bed as a smirk plays at his lips as he lays back, eyes half lidded as he stretches. His hair falls around his pale form, a strange expression on his face as he raises his hand, an orb of water appearing in his palm as he breathes out slowly as he brings that orb to his lips, the water slowly turning to crystal. " If wishing for something bad to happen to bad people makes you a bad person...then I must be a really horrid person," murmurs Mizu softly, tossing that crystal into the air as he waves his hand, it spinning around as he sighs softly, lights glowing off of it. " You may wish something bad to befall Mr. Caldwell...anyone in their right mind most likely would..." Mizu tilts his head, eyes half lidded as that ball floats in the air, moving as it floats before Simon, glowing with the reflected sunlight. " Since yesterday I've been wishing that he'd push my blood traits just far enough that I'd actually loose control and kill him," murmurs Mizu, a smirk on his face as he sighs slightly, a strange expression on his face. " But it would take alot too do that...and unfortunately I don't think he could do it..." |

Simon averted his eyes, ashamed that he'd admitted to Mizu that he did indeed wish for something bad to happen to Mr. Caldwell. It wasn't exactly selfish. He knew how he treated and took advantage of other people's misfortunes. Charles and the ladies like Nona shouldn't be swept up in servitude for life because of things they couldn't control or one or two misguided mistakes. His left hand tightened into a fist as it still held his right. "What's really inexcusable is the things he does to you and the other boys that have been here. Buying and selling people like property...it's terrible. There's not a word to describe it." He bit his lip till it bled to try and keep tears from spilling forth from his eyes. Simon slowly released his hold on his hand and tried to think about what Mizu was saying. If Mr. Caldwell pushed him too far...? He looked up, not caring if Mizu saw that he was crying. "You can't do that. You should warn him...not that he'll listen. If you ended up killing someone horrible like him...that's not fair." He couldn't describe it, but as far as Simon could feel, killing someone was a terrible burden, one he wouldn't' wish on anyone, especially Mizu. |

Mizu sighs, getting off the bed as he wanders over, taking Simon's hands in his own as he tilts his head, eyes half-lidded. " Yet at the same time...him needing us keeps us alive," whispers Mizu, a strange expression upon his face, looking a bit lost and gone for a moment. " If there weren't people that wanted me...no matter the reason...I'd have long ago been dead...so for that I have to be thankful...for being alive. For being able to meet you...for being able to live in this world...too see the flowers..." MIzu sighs, looking lost for a moment as a strange smile plays at his lips, eyes half lidded as Simon makes his lip bleed as he takes that crystal, pressing it too Simon's lip as it glows, the wound slowly healing. " I have warned him," murmurs Mizu, eyes half-lidded as he sighs softly. " Plus on the website my names ALWAYS in bright red letters with multiple warnings by it...I'm like a wild animal...dangerous and rather unpredictable even in the best of situations..." MIzu sighs, tilting his head as he smiles, a little smirk playing at his pale lips. " Or that's what I've led most people to believe..." Mizu sighs at Simon's words, looking lost for a moment as he leans against Simon slightly, fingers moving to play through Simon's hair, seeming to find some strange comfort in just touching the others light colored hair. " You spit out light like a super powered flashlight," whispers Mizu softly, a strange expression on his face as he smiles slightly. " You glow like the setting sun...and that's what will keep me from losing my mind...that light...that chases away the nightmares...and the darkness that sometimes clouds my mind..." |

Simon clasped Mizu's hands when the other boy came close. He wished, for what felt like the hundredth time since he'd met Mizu, that the other boy didn't have the live the life that had been given to him. The gardener was right about one thing, he tended to always put the welfare of others before his own. Though Simon wasn't aware, it was a particular trait that was inherently contributing to his growing affinity with light. Not all affiliated with light were virtuous, but those who were had rarer and stronger powers. Oddly enough, Simon's were growing even though mere days before they had been in their utmost infancy. "I have to be glad then that I was about to meet you but...I just don't want you to have to live with such a terrible burden." He leaned forward and wrapped his arms around Mizu, hugging him lightly and wiling whatever light he had that Mizu had appreciated to soothe and warm his friend. He shut his eyes, not caring any longer about the ears, and concentrated on the other boy's words. He played with a long strand of Mizu's hair while he still embraced him, watching as the strands flowed over his fingers like water. "If that's true then I'll be here to help whenever you need me. I'm not sure what exactly it is that's growing within me, but I know that I can trust it when it comes to you. Your tone sweeps my anxiety and sadness away. I feel like I can be sure of myself, that I am myself when we're together. It's like I've known you for all my life." |

Mizu sighs, eyes half lidded as he smiles at Simon, a gentle expression on his pale face. " When you think on it...I don't know who has the bigger burden..." murmurs Mizu, eyes falling shut as he relaxes in Simon's embrace a gentle smile on his pale lips. " My burden is more on my soul then anything...your burdens tax your body so..." Mizu smiles, fingers moving to play through Simons's hair as he sighs softly as Simon's fingers play through his own dark hair. Mizu tilts his head, eyes half lidded as he smiles a bit, listening to Simon as he giggles slightly. " Hmm, and whatever that light is it really is growing," murmurs Mizu as he sighs. " And it seems to be growing at a rather amazing rate..." Mizu grins as he stretches, tilting his head as he sighs. " We should probably head out too the gardens...if we stay in here all day people will start to talk..." Mizu smiles slightly as his eyes seem to glow as he stretches a bit, kissing Simon on the cheek as he smiles. " Thanks for letting me go to pieces on you," murmurs Mizu, stepping back as he bows slightly. " Well Lady Simone...shall we go out and enjoy ourselves?" |

Simon had to agree with Mizu's estimation that his burden was physical while Mizu's tended to be more on his emotional and mental well being. They both had aspects of the other, but their problems were somewhat different in nature thus the fact that they were banding together was mutually beneficial. He flushed when Mizu kissed him on the cheek and Simon seemed to brighten considerably, both in mood and appearance. He folded his hands, entangling his fingers together and nodded when Mizu suggested that they go and see the gardens. 'You're right. I need to show you all the important places in the mansion too...and if you give me ideas of the sorts of places that you'd enjoy I can modify and take you to them." He took Mizu's hand and hurried out of the room as much as he could in the somewhat precarious shoes that he had on. From Mizu's room it was an elevator ride and then several hallway's journey down to the back doors. Simon tried to ignore it as several servants stopped to stare at him and a few of the women even giggled when they seemed to recognize Simon disguised as a girl. That was really his main reason for hurrying, he didn't want to give them time to think of barbs before he had departed again. He slowed down when they were outside and gestured toward the first garden in front of them with walls as tall as two of Charles. "This is the garden maze. It's pretty neat to get lost inside." |

" I just want to get out in the fresh air," murmurs Mizu, smiling at Simon as his dark hair falls into his eyes, giggling as he follows after Simon, eyes half lidded as he moves happily. He moves easilly in his geta sandles, humming to himself as he grins, waving at some of the other servants as they move past. Mizu grins as they reach the back doors as he smiles. " Hmm, well it seems you're in a mighty big hurry..." Mizu tilts his head, looking at the maze as a slight smirk plays at his lips. " Hmm, that actually sounds like alot of fun," murmurs Mizu, eyes half lidded as he giggles. " I wouldn't mind getting lost in there...I'm sure I could get out eventually..." Mizu looks up toward the sky, eyes half lidded as a strange expression overtakes his face for a silent moment. " You know...we're birds...caged birds." Mizu sighs, gathering water from the air as it pools in his hand as he smiles slightly, throwing the water into the air, effectively creating a small rainbow. " Or in my case like a captive wolf or tiger," murmurs Mizu, tilting his head as he hums softly, smiling a bit as he stretches. " I used to pace alot...so being able to get outside is good for me...keeps me from getting cabin fever and going crazy..." |

"Captives?" Simon started, echoing the sentiment that the other boy had implied when he spoke about their current position in the world. He'd never thought of himself as lofty as a bird kept in a cage since that tended to imply that there was something that they needed to be protected from, that there was an intrinsic value that made that necessary. It was almost funny, that the danger seemed more poignant from inside the cage rather than on the outside. He brushed his fingers through his hair as he glanced up toward the rainbow that Mizu had created in the bright morning light. "It's amazing, how light and water can make something so beautiful. It's just an illusion but it speaks to the unity that such different things can attain," he mused. Simon always loved rainbows but Charles had said that dreamers always seemed to have an affinity for such things. It was usually in that amused tone that he sometimes took with Simon to suggest that he thoroughly enjoyed the boy's innocent reactions to somewhat obscure matters. 'So do you want to get lost in the maze or try going to a different garden? I guess it doesn't matter much though, as long as we're outside." Simon stayed remarkably pale despite his running around. His clothes tended to cover his skin pretty well, protecthing it from UV rays which was fortunate since it was sensitive to light and burned rather than tanned. But the sun did illuminate the lighter tones of his hair, throwing out some of the brown as it appeared in the sunlight. |

" Hmm, yes captives," murmurs Mizu, eyes half lidded as he tilts his head too the side, a far away look on his pale face as he sighs softly. " If only for the freedom they'd give I wish I would have inherited some more of my mothers traits...shadow spirits have wings when fully matured..." Mizu sighs, tilting his head to the other side as he smiles ever so slightly. " I wish there was a way to get on the roof at night...too feel the breeze and just lay there and stare up at the stars in the sky..." Mizu sighs, blinking at Simon's question as a smile plays at his lips. " I wanna go see another garden...we can get lost another day," murmurs Mizu, smiling as he tilts his head, throwing water out to make another rainbow. " When I was 5 years old I figured out that if I threw water at just the right angle into the sunlight it would make a rainbow...I've loved to do so ever since..." Mizu tilts his head, noticing a butterfly out of the corner of one red eye as a smile plays at his lips. This butterfly was dark black with purple glowing markings and was letting off a dark purple light around it. Now to some people they wouldn't see the glow and they'd just think this was some weird species of butterfly. To most people they wouldn't even see the creature. This was a Death Realm Butterfly, one of the creatures that often stayed in the Death Realm, though once in a while a fissure in the realms would form and a few would escape. " I'm going to have to catch that for Gami," murmurs Mizu softly. " It's not good when they escape...especially if anyone's pet were to eat one...touching them you're fine...but if you eat one...you're either going to be VERY sick...or dead..." |

"I'm sure that we'll both get to be free one day. Well, I'm sure it'll happen for you earlier than me. I'm a bit too attached to Charlie to want to leave just yet. And I wouldn't feel right just abandoning him." Simon was still young and in need of care, but he hadn't ever thought of running away, even during the moments when he was certain that Mr. Caldwell was going to figure out who and what he was. Simon had heard Charles up at night, debating to himself what to do in case the inevitable happened and the master learned he was a boy. More often than not he had decided to himself to drop Simon off at a church or with the state for foster care because he felt his chances of staying sane and at least somewhat innocent were better away than if Mr. Caldwell got ahold of him. Other days, though, the other man was entirely pessimistic about the prospect of Mr. Caldwell not finding Simon again. He felt it would be too easy, if the vendetta was there, for him to track the boy down and take him in anyway. In that case, well, Charles didn't know what he would do. Simon mused on all this while he watched Mizu make a second rainbow. He was fixing to take him to the sun garden when he saw the butterfly in question. It seemed strange to his eyes, and something flickered in his sight while he stared at it. It was probably the first time that Simon had ever seen something out of the ordinary since his budding powers in their infancy had only managed to give him an internal sensation. It never gone into his ocular senses before, so this was new and rather exciting. "I...I can see it. It's glowing dark...wow. that's amazing. How do you plan to catch it?" |
